Hey guys, been shopping around these random cottage companies looking for a good real-time OBD2 scanner and software. I have been trying to pool data VIA my CarChip Ex, but it seems the hardware can only use one interface as necessary. I'm looking for the OBD2 to USB hardware that can get get no delays in data reporting, and some decent software.
thankfully the software part is easier since I can find demos and play with them, but the scanners are an expensive investment and really something I am having difficulty looking for suggestions on.
I'm really hoping to have a nice set of gagues on my EEE PC (small solid state laptop) for a long haul cross country.
Anybody here with an opinion or suggestion?

ouch, a modis is a little too expensive, I was looking at PCMScan by Palmer Technologies.
Anybody have any experiences?

yeah, already said. modis is the top of the line snap-on scanner.
no need for the modis though.... an ethos would do just fine...

why go thru 2 pieces of hardware to do what one will do? Scangauge or aeroflight industries make products that take real time readings from the obd port and display it on the unit.

My bad, its aeroforce technology, check them out on srtforums, they're a supporting vendor. They have a link to the site and a forum over there.

^ It works on All OBDII Cars. NGC has nothing to do with it.

The aeroforce stuff looks swank, though it's not quite what I'm looking for...although I might get one just because
Wenuden, I'm looking to reduce the price since I already have a worthy and mounted display, I just need to transmit the data and interpolate it.

Inova OBDII scanner will give you just about all your looking for for about $130. I have a Mac tools scanner that I hardly use since I bought this and it was $750. I only use the Mac for airbag resets

Any links to either? Everytime I go to SRT forums I get the "you must sign in" page or it won't load....
