Painted: grill, trim, corners, scoop, mirrors, c pillars....

Post by yellowpatrol » Sat Jun 14, 2008 8:04 am

I know there will be mixed feelings about this- I'm having some myself as it didn't turn out quite as I imagined it. Oh well I'm going to leave it and see if it grows on me of if I will re-do it.

I like it! but, why didn't you paint the whole mirror?

I like how you left the base of the mirror black, it keeps the trim flowing.

Unfortunately, that really the only thing I like that you did. The corners look ok, but the C pillars break up the flow of the window trim, and the grille pieces and the scoop insert, I'm just not feeling them at all.

I think the grille pieces, scoop insert, and the windshield washer nozzles should all either be body color or black.

I've seen pictures of our car with the whole mirror painted and I don't think it would look good with my color.

Yeah, I don't know about the white, it just doesn't look anything like I imagined.... Damnit.

Here's a couple dead-on pics.

Not trying to be a dick or anything, but I will be honest...I think the white looks like total ass. The red grilles look alright (just noticed them LoL!) and the mirrors look okay too, but the c-pillar looks out of place IMO. I'd paint the hood insert, washer nozzles, and grille accents blaze red.

Nice engine though!

Hey man, everything looks like it came out great! Very different thats for sure, but how do YOU like it?

I think the C-pillars and the mirrors came out the best.

I think it looks okay. The C pillars don't quite flow like someone said, but oh well.

I think you should paint the inserts and grill pieces all black. It would look mean as shit.

all that silver, turn black. silver and red just don't go together i think

if you're going to paint the C pillar, do the rest as well. don't just paint one of them

i do love the mirrors though

I saw a photochop of a car with the B pillars painted as well, and that looks terrible.

I think you have waaaay too much contrast in colors going on. The total look to me is completely out of wack. imo But I'm also a huge fan of just a nice clean look....

Im not diggin the white or silver or whatever it is. You should just do the whole mirror red and the B pillar. I did it on mine and it looks really clean. Keep it up though. Its loo  king good

I like silver/red lol.

I think doing gunmetal or black everywhere you have the white now would look ok. The red grilles aren't bad looking IMO.

Like the mirrors, C-pillars are ok. It only breaks the flow of the window trim if you get close enough to notice, lol.

Hmmmmmm........... I need to see it in person, but as for now, I do not like the white. I would have gone complete color match on the front, or black.

The hood scoop with the white seems to me to be out of place. The front fascia looks great though.
