Start with the brakes and suspension and get some good tires. Time attack is a time trial event it has nothing to do with the SCCA solo progaram. SCCA time trials are called PDx (performance driving experance) NASA progresses from HPDE 1-4 to time trial.

Not so much becasue he is asking about modifycations to the car and a working street class set-up could just as easily be used for a fun DD.

Well I guess it depends how much money you want to spend!

1)But most importantly I would get good wheels and tires like enkie RPF1's or Konig heliums...both super lightweight, and the get some got tires like the Falken Azenis RT-615's for the money are amazing.

2)suspension, I'm assuming a 2g so uprade swaybars, and poly bushings, decent strut tower bars, and coilovers would be ideal but some illuminas or konis would do well.

3) Brakes, getting hawk HPS pads and good qaulity rotors should be good enough, but for fairly cheap you can get SRT/ PT cruiser Brakes....but then you also need the P/S rack.

4) A moroso oil pan would be a good idea, and basic CAI, header back exhaust no bigger than 2.5".

5) stage a million weight redux!

good luck keep us posted in a project log, Im kinda doing the same thing too.

It's clearly so the car can stay within the minimum weight restrictions. After he took everything out he had to counter-balance with the whale tale. Also, since his rear end is pushing the front of the car into the air, he'll get better grip.
