Yes. The magnum valve covers were metal, and you can also buy an aftermarket one, I think from Mancini. However some of the Mancini covers don't come out too well or take a while, but it's nothing that's not fixable.

You should check out another chrome shop... there are ways of chroming plastic now. Basically, they paint it with a metallic paint and then chrome over the top of it.

I saw it on Trucks the other day!

the only thing with a 1gn valve cover is that you will need to make a minor chage to the PCV valve system

Yep, they're aluminum. There has to be a cheap way to "chrome" plastic. Mopar Performance sold chrome timing covers for the 2.2's in the eighties. While it wasn't real chrome they didn't look too bad. Like the wheels you get with some of the plastic models. Some of those look pretty damn nice. I'm not sure what is used tho. As far as durability goes, don't know how much of an issue it would be. I think I would lean towards a Mancini unit, for the fact that if you can get one you don't have to spend the time researching getting a plastic one chromed, and they do contain some of the valvetrain noise. But I think the plastic one is lighter, if weight is an issue.

use a 1gn valve cover form a 97. Best Valve cover ever.

PCV is on the top and NOT the side, so when you corner hard the oil doesnt slosh out the side......

Since you dont care about weight then go for the 1gn one. and paint it up!!!!!
