did u guys upgrade ur alternator or kept da stock one once u went wit airbags. were there any problems wit da stock one?

I added a second battery but that was cause had alot of other electronics going on as well.

Somehow I don't think this is in the right category. Also the alternators are the same for all 2000-2004 Neons. The 05 had a slightly higher output.

actually, it was the the 00-02 neons that had the higher output alternator.

as far as the air ride goes, i was running two compressors with a stock alternator. matter of fact, i was running a Underdrive Pulley. the only recomendation would be to have the car running while the compressors are running. i ran the compressors while the car was off and it almost killed my battery within minutes.

Oh oh Air Ride. With the bags. Dudes talking about airbags and I'm thinking ARS. I dunno, I've heard a couple people on this forum say that an 05 alternator was an upgrade.

sxt models produced after 6-05 had 120 amp alts.

So there were only a few SXT's that actually had the 120amp alternators.

I have a red top in the rear and the standard srt battery in the front. havnt had any problems. but the goal is to have two of the same batteries.

get the alt from the 6-05+ neons, upgrade your ground lines then try it... you can always add a 2nd battery with a silonoid later (its required if you want to do it right)

the problem is that addnig another battery is also adding more stress to an alternator because now it has to charge 2 batteries.
