Lil of both. when you set the car down the strut will sit on the tire (done this) 17 and 18s will fit hell some of these guys have 20s but tire sizes get slim the bigger you go. I'm running stock wheels and want a set of 16s with some lip that have good offsets and a decent amount of tire sizes to choose from

I think alot of it is the 40mm off-set... needs to be 38 or less when going up in size from stock 14 or 15 inch stuff

I also think that smaller 15s and 16s suit neons better I mean just cause they fit don't mean they look good. I had 17s and I ended up putting stock wheels back on because they don't look right on these cars. I know about perfect wheel fitment from building drift cars and it is hard to achieve on neons because of the odd fender heights (lower in rear then front)

40mm will work fine, i am not worried about that. i will just have to switch to 205/40 tires.

everyone has their own opinion on what looks good on a car. that is why there are an almost infinite number of wheels patterns and colors available. i have a set of 18" wheels that look very good on my neon but they are not mounted atm. they need new shoes, but before i sink a few hundred dollars into tires i am looking around for any possible deals on some 17" sets.

gunmetal face, silver lip that is almost identical to the factory color. will look better once i have the lip kit installed to elongate the body, but that wont happen for atleast 2 months. someone backed into me and the back bumper had to be resprayed last week.
