ACR no longer for sale...please lock

Post by Danteneon » Mon Jun 30, 2008 1:10 am

Name :John Holmes (yes it really is)
Location - Manassas VA
Contact info - PM me, or work # 703-361-6506 (Manassas Dodge)
Feedback - http://forum.2GN.org/viewtopic.php?p=394140

Let me start by saying I really don't want to sell my car! This is one of the hardest things I've had to do :( But the car isn't driven much now, and I just bought a house, so she has become a luxury with a monthly note and insurance that I cannot afford easily anymore.

Most people here are familiar with my car, but here is a link to my garage to list all the mods done to her.

http://forum.2gn.org/garage.php?mode=vi ... le&CID=555

She has just shy of 112,000 miles on her (I will get exact mileage tomorrow).

With the car I am also including a set of 15" O.E. snowflakes with Kuhmo AST's 205/60/15 that I used this past winter. Both sets of tires have less than 2000 miles on them.

Details about the car...The paint is in good condition. There are two small door ding on the right rear door, one very small one on the right front door (both there when I bought her). The car had some minor body damage to the right front before I bought her. The right fender was straightened, but there is some minor rust next to the headlamp. The car is in sound, good running condition. No CEL, no leaks, the A/C blows cold. She will need a timing belt replacement done soon with the water pump (not leaking, just a good idea) as well as a new clutch (it has just started to shudder slightly taking off in first, and only sometimes). The right front strut mount will need to be replaced as well (might as well do both...makes sense).

Above and beyond that, the car is one of the best handling FWD cars I have ever driven (and that's saying something!) I have put a lot of time and money into her to make her handle as incredible as possible. As such, she is preped to be a racecar. The supension feel is quite civil on the street however...not overly harsh. You may pay more for KW struts, but you get more as well! She does not have a back seat or rear seatbelts, nor any airbags. I have the passenger side airbag, control module, and original steering wheel and airbag. I don't have an airbag for the SRT wheel. The light isn't on (because the bulb has been removed) but it won't stop it from passing any inspection unless someone notices the passenger bag is gone  One other word of note...the car is LOUD! She has the MP/Borla SRT cat-back, and while it sounds incredible, it is loud.

This car can come with MANY extra parts if so desired. I will be making a separate thread about them, but in case someone is interested in the extra stuff as well, I can make a package deal for them as well. Here is the list so far...

http://forum.2gn.org/viewtopic.php?p=449241#449241

Last but not least, the price. I'm asking $7,800 for her. That is less than I have in her (by far) and much less than she is worth. Like I said, I don't want to sell her, and I can make it work so I can keep her...but this is going to be better in the long run. I'm still going to Carlise (with or without her) so if I still have her, local folks can see her there. There is a lien holder on the title, but the asking price pays that, so the title will be released at that point. I've never sold a car without title in hand before, so I can get more details about that.

Sorry for the novel. Please, someone give my baby a good home

Well, at least there is some good news. Sorry that you have to sell though.

Thanks guys. My biggest concern after dealing with the fact that I have to sell it is that I want it to go to a good home.

Me too, I'd buy this thing in a heart beat. No money, and more importantly, nowhere to put it.

Yeah, I know money is tight for just about everyone right now.

My wife and I still have the Caliber, and since we both work at the dealership and we are less than two miles from said dealership, and that we usually take her car on trips and to the store, we will just keep that.

Yep, you said it :(

Oh, and bump it for lower price.

Did you mean how much I'm selling it for, or why am I selling it?

Price is now $7800. As to why, I explained it in the original post. I simply can't have that additional payment on top of all the others I have now. Especially on a car that I love dearly but don't rely on as daily transportation anymore. If I could afford it I would keep it and road race it like I had planned.

Hey, older used Neons can be bought for cheap ...... ;)

I already had my two 1st gens (paid off) when I got my house, and added the 2000 MTX early this year.

You don't have to give up the Neon hobby, just 'downgrade' a little bit..... and search the For Sale boards for cheap upgrades afterwards. (cough cough) :D :D
