Peddle Vibrations
Peddle Vibrations
So the last couple days my gas peddle seems to be vibrating alot more then normal it seems like. It mostly happens when i'm coasting and slowing down. There is noticable hum coming from the front end as well. When i turn right it seems to quiet down a little and then get back to a noticable hum as i straighten out again.
I have no clue what it could be but i hope its not my transmission, the only thing i know needs to be replaced on my car soon is the bushings.
Anyway i'm going to try a transmission fluid change because thats all i can think of to do. Hope someone can help me.

If the hum gets worse when you turn left it could be you right side wheel bearing. When you turn right the weight transfers to the left, taking the pressure off the right side, so it quiets down.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.

now would this hum continue all the time as i drive straight and turn left, also would it cause a vibration? in the peddleoccasional demons wrote:If the hum gets worse when you turn left it could be you right side wheel bearing. A wheel bearing will growl or hum when going in a straight line, but will get louder when turning the opposite direction of the bad one. As far as vibrations I haven't had one fail on my neon yet, so I can't say. If it is bad enough I suppose anything is possible.

Even at that it may be labor intensive to find. could be anything from wheel balance to a half shaft starting to fail.

sooo took it to the shop and they had every mechanic look at it and they have no clue, look at it for 5 hours and the mechanics checked everything, everything is tight and solid he said but there is a slight grinding sound when you are going straight or turning left but goes away when you turn right. So in the end no one could figure anything out and 1 mechanic said its a bearing starting to go but all the other guys said they were mint. so after all that i'm still no wheres closer. maybe another shop will have a fresh set of eyes to see it.
p.s. this sucks my gas mileage is horrible cause of this.

I can't tell you how hard it is to solve such noises. I spent about $800 in parts and labor replacing all wear items on my front end such as bearings, ball joints, strut top hats and bushings. So I wish you the best of luck.
As for feeling it through your pedal, it is definitely linked to something with your wheels, tires or suspension.
And just for shits and giggles, check to make sure your lug nuts are tight and that your wheel isn't shifting slightly.

Also check between your engine and frame, around your trans/engine, etc. I once had some road debris get lodged between the tensioner/engine mount and the frame. Made some weird noises, and took me a while to figure out WTF was going on.

so after another day at the garage we managed to get rid of the peddle vibration with a new tire rod but now the sound is still not gone
my best way to describe it is its almost like 2 metals grinding but only when going left or straight, turn right and gone.
i've also noticed my steering wheel shake like crazy above 60mph.
and finally shes pullin to the left hard, makes turning left easy compared to turning right, you have to pull harder to go right feels like.

Try swapping pads and rotors from side to side and see if the problem follows. If not I would still say wheel bearing. It may still be tight, but could still make noise, or be getting dry.

I'm saying wheel bearings as well... it if it's only doing it when going left or straight but not right... sounds like a wheel bearing, however you said you replaced the right bearing and it's still not doing it?
Now you're getting vibs above 60? If that's the case it sounds like a wheel is out of balance, are you using hubcentric rings as well since you have aftermarket wheels?

If it was me with those symptoms on my car... I'd take it to an alignment shop and describe what is happening. After a peek around they should be able to tell you whats up.w0158981 wrote:so after another day at the garage we managed to get rid of the peddle vibration with a new tire rod but now the sound is still not gone

soo i'm going to an allignment shop tomorrow to get it aligned because i can make corners on the highway by letting go of the wheel.
i'm also wondering if an allignment will help my gas mileage. I went for a drive to school today and found out i'm only get 22mpg and it was 90% highway driving.
to me that looks bad as i was hoping for 28-30mpg highway
