Woot promotion!

So after a bit of being overlooked and getting screwed over I am finally being promoted to Shift Supervisor at Starbucks. I also have to transfer to a different store (this is my 3rd store) that was the origional store I wanted to work at, totally kicks the stores ass I work at now.

- 4 Miles away, opposed to 8
- Roads much smoother, 1 road the whole way
- MUCH lower volume store, makes only about 14K a week as opposed to my current stores 20K.
- No drivethru
- Tips much better
- Open later, close earlier
- RAISE!
- Next to HOOTERS!

So you know what this means... more money to mod! Oh yea!

I am very paranoid about my job, so if it was me my take on it would be this:

Given that they are closing a bunch of stores I would be concerned that they are shuffling all the staff they want to get rid of to the stores they are going to close.

On the other hand there is the more positive view that they are shuffling all the staff they want to keep to all the stores that will stay open.

Lower revenue could perhaps be partially accounted for the lack of a drive thru and there being a Hooters next door.

Lets see... Hooters or Starbucks? Easy decision... Hooters!

Starbucks should learn from hooters. Those work uniforms they make the chicks wear just arent attracting enough people. Short shorts+lo cut top=More customers. lol

Haha thanks everyone. And the 600 stores that are scheduled to close will not be any in my district. The first 50 that are going to close are going to be announced mid-july. None of them will even be in NJ. They are mostly going to be in over-saturated areas, like NYC (there are 180ish in Manhattan alone) , LA, etc, so that less stores can make more money as opposed to more stores making less money. They are going to do their best to spread out the partners that will be losing their jobs. All in all they plan to have all of the 600 closed by March 2009, it will cost around 320 million dollars to the company to do so also. Also for 2009 they only plan to open up 200, or less, new stores.

there is a starbucks going in right down from my house.. we are not poor around here, but we are all cheap!! I wonder how good business will do... $1 awesome coffee from QT, or $5 latte from Starbucks...

congratz on the promotion, raise, and shorter commute. Not really a fan of starbucks. Their regular coffee sucks.

I haven't even stopped by at the nearest starbucks. It's like a mile away and it opened 2 years ago... Plus I still have a gift card.
