TO SWAP OR NOT TO SWAP YOU BE THE JUDGE?
k guys as some of you know i have a 2001 siver ACR that i bought from my best freind [original owner] i had planned on doing a full srt-4 swap just full drivetrain and int...and leaving the outside stock looking with just coilovers and enki rpf1 rims...so ive been thinking latley about maybe racing scca instead of building a crazy straitline car..so sould i swap and be stupid fast with big turbo and all....or do full boltons all motor and keep the car original ACR? i cant make up my mind....i could build a pretty mean scca car for about 3k less than the full srt swap.....but still be street legal ...money is not a issue since i already have the full srt donor car at my house...so YOU GUYS PICK
04 srt-4 big turbo full boltons=437whp 442ftpt...1/4 et 11.7@122mph

i got the acr because it is already 200 pounds lighter than the srt....i bought a totaled srt from my buddy and sold my srt..i can gut the ACR and get it at least 400-500 pounds lighter than my srt so that would be 10s on pump gas.... low 10s on race with the new gt3582r turbo kit im gonna use...or since its like 1 or 17 made in 2001 leave it with bolt ons and scca it...prob worth more org

hm.. After you install the tranny, engine, turbo, intercooler, pipes, and all the other stuff that make the SRT what it is, That 200lbs savings will be right out the window. You could of gutted the SRT-4 and saved yourself a bunch of trouble.

ACRs weighed in at an average 2550-2700lbs depending on options
SRTs were in the 2900lbs range
The SRT was heavier due to things like the turbo, bigger wheels, better brakes, intercooler, etc etc etc
I bet you could of just made your SRT lighter than an ACR Swapped Neon.
Remember an SRT is just an upgraded Neon

no you dont understand....it was not just gutted im talking gutted...no airbags...just driver seat...front and rear bumpersupports taken out...i took a sawzaw to the inside of the car and swis cheesed the car...and it was still 2700 pounds and i did not put the roll cage in yet ether....the ACR s body structer is not as beffy as a srt-4...the acr was not made to go 155mph...the srt was...they made up for that speed with safety....the ACR can get to 2300pounds with stripping and cutting...the ACR is the lightest 2nd gen made..there is not one lighter....no a/c no radio...no options but tcs...
