What should i Do

Post by krc21 » Sat Jul 05, 2008 8:48 pm

I guess this is a what should i do or what can i do. On june 20 or so i sent payment to the member on here shinta86 for a mag intake manifold. He was very informative and took pictures. He shipped on the 25th and the item had a delivery date of 6/30. He gave me the tracking number and i saw it on ups on 6/30 they changed the delivery date to 7/1. Then expecting my package on the 1st. nothing came. The package said the last scan was in laurel MD and it was an arrival scan. that was on 6/30. The next day on the 2nd The information next to delivery date said exception. I called ups and they said that they cant give me any info. So i called shinta86 and he was a cool guy said he was on vacation but he would call when he got a chance. I checked the next day and they said the shipper had started an investigation so i guess he called. did they lose the package? has anyone had this happen before? first time something going wrong with ups and its finally something important.. this post isnt pointing fingers at shinta86 at all. so far he seems like a down to earth guy. i hope i can get this resolved because there is other stuff i want to buy from him.

Sounds like a problem with UPS. Dunno what you can do. Poke around their website. Was there any insurance placed on it?

Yo kyle was up i know exactly what happened cause it happened to me to the first time i purchased my rear disc brakes. when they say exception it means the package was damaged on or before the truck. what happened to me was the guy packed everything in a box wit a lil bit of tape and parts had fallen out of the box and scattered round the truck. what sux the most is u cant do anything, the shipper has to file the claims and if ur lucky the box was ripped and the item was still inside cause they can return it to him damaged and he can check it out and resend the package. so if hes cool he'll get it out to u once he gets everything cleared.

Hmmm I got an idea. I work at UPS at the Lenexa hub as a sorter and I see many packages since I ahve to sort them to different belts. We get stuff that comes through and its not packaged correctly. And the item either shows its self through the box or it will fall out. We usually try to catch them and tape them back up. But there are so many different scenarios that can happen. My best guess is that it wasn;t packaged good, fell out of the box and the product is floating around somewhere. So they probably are looking for it or already found it and are putting it in a new package. Hopefully its not damaged or you can collect insurance on it.

Ask the seller how he packaged it.

Another bigger box could of smashed it. It could of rolled down off a higher belt onto the ground. Like I said so many scenarios. I see so much product get damaged because people don't know how to pack their stuff when they ship it.
