Removing washer nozzles

Post by speedracer » Sun Jul 06, 2008 7:43 pm

Hey, did a search and apparently I'm the only one ignorant enough not to know how to do this.

I tried, with alot of effort I might add, but they feel like they would snap off. I bought replacements for the ones not working on my car now and I'm trying to remove the old ones. I looked in the haynes manual to no avail.

Someone will probably stickey a passage using the search fuction. But I promise I tried! So any help please!! Thanks, Paul.

I believe you just pinch the little tangs and push them out.

you can use a flat head screw driver and pop one tab out. Then while holding the nozzle from on top of the hood (keeping the side you just popped out away from the car) just pop the other tab.

For something that simple it can be kind of tricky.

There might be enough room also to use a socket to push onto the underside of the nozzle which will press both tabs in and you can pull the nozzle out... never tried it though, always just used a small screwdriver to push the tabs in.

Price is wrong... BOB!!!

Have you seen what some cars have on their wipers. Thats right sprinklers. Caddys have em. Some Caravans even have em. And thats what I am gonna do.

Also, they work way better at high speeds by spreading the washer fluid all over instead of shooting in two spots.

So dont playa hate...lol

Meh, they also freeze while doing 60 mph in 10 below temps. Ulness you want to buy a bottle of rubbing alcohol to boost you washer fluid....

I'll have to agree... I had a company car one time with these that came stock, and they sucked big time in the winter. That's probably why you don't see many new cars with those.

If it gets 10 below, I'd be worried about my washer tank freezing over too. I dont think its gonna get 10 below to many times in even in the winter. I'll deal with it.

I'll just get some better quality washer fluid that doesn't freeze unless its alaska cold.
