Black Box in engine bay? Not the fuse box lol

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Black Box in engine bay? Not the fuse box lol

Post by LionheartedSXT » Wed Jul 09, 2008 8:00 pm

Never really took the time to figure out what it is...can any one tell me?...The thing behind the coil pack and next to the coolant bottle...Would it have to be moved if the srt-4 turbo was installed? And also what is the easiest way to re-locate the coolant bottle so it has clearance of the turbo?

That is your cruise control box. Some have ran a turbo with it, but it wasn't an option on SRT's because of the heat.

No offense but its kids like you that remind me of the fact that its way to easy and cheap to make neons fast. If you can't even figure what that is then why on earth are you going to put a turbo on. Have fun blowing your car up.

Ok, to stop being a jerk now. To answer your question they sell some nice cheap plastic over flow cans on e-bay that you can get an allmost any color. Summit sells some nice stainless ones but there like 60 bucks. Jegs has this one which aint bad http://www.jegs.com/i/Moroso/710/63657/10002/-1 What I did was move it over and mount it right next to the strut tower.

:laughing3: Heheh your a funny guy...really don't think its that serious though, and I promise you I won't blow up my car, just because I didn't know that was my cruise control box doesn't make me naive to the information on turbos...I know a good amount already and I'm always learning new things...so relax on that guy...

And not to be rude...but I'd appreciate your contribution on something more important like my comparison on crane 12 and an 01 mag cam thread....Thanks again :D

Oh an btw...thanks for the coolant overflow info

I wasn't realy being seriuse every once in a while I Get the urge to be a jerk. I asure its not a permanint condition. I'm seeking treatment. Does smacking an officer in the Army count as treatment?

But go on E-bay and search for "catch can" It says its for oil but there is no reason why you couldn't use it as a coolant one. There a heck of a lot nicer then a stock one too.
