Debadging?

Post by p8ntballah413 » Wed Aug 03, 2005 11:39 am

I know how to debadge my car, but i am wondering if I am going to like it. I am def. considering taking off the "dodge" and the "neon" off my trunk, and the "SE" on the back doors. I am unsure if I want to take off the "dodge" on the front doors, along with the trim piece that runs front to back. what do u guys think? does anyone have some before and afters shots? i want to figure out if taking the trim off is something i want to do or not.

here is my car:

Here is a link to pics of a CG neon that has been debadged and has the side molding removed. It's Neonix's 2gn.

Here's your car debadged... Were you going to remove the side moulding stripes, as well?

Here's debadged without the side moulding stripes:

(Not quite as good as my first two.)

First off, you're welcome. :) Yeah, I'll be dabadging mine soon as well. As far as the side stripes... I really wanna' do it, but I'm afraid of the same thing since the paint under my wing pedestals have those little bubbles under it. I wanted to run wingless, but when I pulled the wing off and saw those bubbles... Let me know how the shop handles that. Maybe I'll pull my wing off and side stripes and take mine to the body shop, but I don't wanna' spend massive labor on something so rediculous.

My side moldings were the same way. That's the only reason I still have them. I'd love to have them off but I don't want to have to pay for uneccesary work once I take them off.

for some reason, mine never bubbled up...it took a while to get all the tape off the doors and everything, but no bubbles. the paint wasnt faded or anything either. maybe i just got lucky?

yeah it was weird, the bubbles were right underneath where the bottom strip of adhesive tape was, my dad is having some front end work done to his car (tree fell on it), so my dad is going to talk to his friend and see what he can do, i hope that if i get the trim off and clean off the adhesive, he can just sand down the bubbles and tpuch it up. he has painted a few of my dads cars before, so hopefully he wont charge too much. but im relieved to hear that other people have this problem too. i did have a little bit of fading underneath the badges, but u can only barely see it in some angles, but you really have to look for it, overall i am happy with it. tomorrow it gets lowered!

Thanks. I can do little stuff like that without a problem... Ask me to put a kit on a car? That's Diablo0, there. :)

Yeah, there's some people that don't have the problem and more that do. I was quite upset when I saw those damn things when I pulled the wing off. I'm going to assume they're under my moulding stripes as well. :(

The paint under mine didn't bubble or anything either. Which made me happy, cause I love the look without the side moldings, makes it look clean and smooth. :D

I had itty bitty bubbles on mine that are only noticeable if you put your face right up to the car. paintballah are you really 43? I seem to think you are much younger. Anyhow, taking the side molding off was a bitch and took like 3 hours. But it came off clean after the adhesive remover.

I debaged my CG 2K on the weekend,.. never got around to taking the side molding off yet. i will do that when I have the time
the downside to my car, is that the dents that I have inthe doors are more noticeable now then it was before

Is putting SRT-4 springs on it considered lowering? :) Isn't it like a .25" drop?
