SRT Wheels on a SXT?
Can you put a SRT 17" wheel on a SXT Neon with drum brakes in the back? If not what do I need to change?

You do not need to change anything at all, it will bolt up perfectly, as long as you do not use the stock sized tires as was mentioned in the first reply.
The stock SRT tires at 50 series which are too tall. Go with a 40 series and you'll be just fine, no spacers, or any other crap like that.
Buy them without the tires and put on a 40 series, they look good, and you will like them.

Yes, you bought the right size (M12 x 1.5 is the bolt and thread pattern on the lug).

i answered on the org, but i'll post here for the 2gn people.
i believe the srt acr perch is the same height as the sxt/rt perch. so that wheel/tire combo should fit no problem. 225/45/16 is only a hair taller than stock too.

basically, but be advised. technically the 205/40 does not fit on a 6" wide wheel (such as the SRT wheel). but many people have put them on. the minimum rim width for that size tire is 7". personally i wouldn't run 205/40 on a 6" wheel. but thats just me

to either change the struts to srt struts and run the 205/50 tire and deal with the car being slower and the speedo being off.
or
get properly sized wheels
but that is just me. many people have put 205/40 on the srt wheel and haven't had a problem. i just like things to be right.

Uhm, why would changing the sidewall height affect whether or not the tire would fit on a 6" wide rim? The tire width of 205mm is the same on both the stock SRT-4 tire and the propose 205/40...racer12306 wrote:basically, but be advised. technically the 205/40 does not fit on a 6" wide wheel (such as the SRT wheel). but many people have put them on. the minimum rim width for that size tire is 7". personally i wouldn't run 205/40 on a 6" wheel. but thats just me

2005 Dodge SRT-4 (445whp/475wtq)

Maybe he meant don't put a 205 on a 6" wheel. instead use a 195.. I don't know..
All I know is the rim fits on a sxt but get a tire that fits that wheel that's not taller than a 40.
Jus what I think. I'm not a pro or anything.

The problem with running a 205 section width on a 40 aspect ratio is that the sidewall is too short for the tire to fit "properly". With a taller sidewall the tire is allowed to flex inward more to fit on a 6" wide wheel. A 45 ratio or taller is needed to fit correctly. Thats why the SRT runs a 50.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

If you look at a tires specs one of the categories is recommended rim width. This will be a range.
and now that I read Dante's post, he hit the nail on the head.
