Started on the brake swap yesterday.
First, put the car up in the air, I used cinderblocks and jacks and jackstands for this...

One last final look at the old brake setup...

I decided to start on the rear brakes first...
First things first, unbolting the drum support bracket and bolting up the disc backing plate...

Installed the ebrake hardware and slid the hub back on for test fitting

Zipped the hub nut back on, torqued everything down to spec, slap the dust cap back on, put the rotor on, and installed the caliper...

Then did the same to the driver side

That's all for now. The swap has come to a stop for now till I can get a stronger gun to break the front knuckles loose...
That, and NOBODY carries banjo bolts...NOBODY, so I cant even throw on the new SS brake lines in the rear yet...burn...

Today I got a good bit more done even though the banjo bolts wont be here till tomorrow...
One last look at the front knuckles....bye bye rust....

HELLO Powdercoating...

After getting the rotors and calipers mounted and torqued down, I decided to throw a wheel on for shits and giggles...MAN does that caliper come close to the wheel!

For those wondering just HOW close...yeah...

for those who cant see it, that's 3/16" from the caliper body and 5/32" from the Wilwood lettering.....
Damn does it fill up my 17's nicely

Tomorrow, steering rack, master cylinder, SS brake lines, and PS and brake fluid flush.
Over the weekend, get everything completely bled, coolant flush, wash, wax, and get her parked in the garage for spring

Nah I'm good, I just got these wheels this year, plus I like having a sidewall, lol.sxxxt wrote:damn you should get some 18's so you can get a nice big view of those braks. looks good
That and 18s would make the rear rotors look tiny as hell, even more so than comparing the front to the back, which I will get shots of when the car is done
