Verizon Voyager. Do you have it? Or have used it? Like it?

Just got a letter from verizon saying I can use my "upgrade to a new phone cuz you have been our bitch for long enough and u just have to continue to be our bitch for another 2 years" plan. I can get the voyager for 150 bucks.

I have never been a fan of touch screens as I would always fear I would break it. But It has a nice full keyboard as well. I will never go without a full normal keyboard again I love it on my current phone. I know a couple peeps here have it and now that you have had it for a while how do you like it? Pros and cons? I can also get the Palm Centro but I think it is ugly and is too wide for me.

So post away! I will be going to check it out and play with it maby tonight if I get done eating soon enough or I will sat. I have to buy it by July 31 if I want this deal.

I didnt get to completely look through it but fromt he two minutes i played with it i liked it. The menu is the shit IMO. The touch screeen isnt as sensitive as most ppl bitched it was. maybe with one of them lil pen thingys for the PDA's you'll be good. I say do it. When i got the ''you've been our bitch long enough'' letter i got the Samsung Alias. I love this dam thing even water damage wont stop it. The centro sucks and its ugly as shit

well ill pipe in since i work for verizon. I have used every phone they have on the market and some. I use a voyager as my daily phone and i love it. although i like the dare too. i just like having the full keyboard to fall back on when the touch screen gets irritating. the centro is a very good phone product wise although treo does have alot of problems with phones freezing up. Havent heard of such problems with the centro yet. The only problem i have with the centro is it is pointless unless a data plan is added which adds to your monthly bill and the keyboard is too small for my fingers. Also if I were gonna go the pda route it would be blackberry hands down. Anways back on topic i would for sure get the voyager. the price right now is un beatable and the phone is very very nice. The only thing i would suggest is to go with the premium plan so you can use unlimited navigator and internet and stuff. All that is fun.

The Keyboard on my Blackberry Curve stopped working after 3 months, So i switched to the Centro. So far I'm alot happier with the Centro. The Internet Browser, touch screen and other features make it a better phone IMO.

Wow. Thanks krc. Very usefull. I def will go into a store and play with one. And if I like it I will probably get it. Just seems like they have had a bunch of horror stories. But then again Verizon has been top notch for service for me so far so. I am not worried really.

Centro is a badass phone. Only an idiot wouldn't know how to use it or take advantage of all it's features. The battery life is a little "meh" for as much as I use my phone, but I still like it.

Voyager is a complete piece of crap with horrible menu interfaces, clunky touch screen and it's bulky to boot.

Avoid it like the plague. I've had one...I know what i'm talking about.

haha funny comments about the voyager.. Like i said i work for verizon and the only time we ever see a voayger come back is when there is customer damged. ok the screen might get messed up when you drop it 5 times a day that is understandable. And i do agree that the centro is a very good phone we have had no problems with it yet. but treo has not been the greatest. although the centro has not givin us any problems.

i wouldn't get the voyager. Although it doesn't have problems that i see on a reg basis like other phones. It's just BIG, clunky, touch screen sometimes takes 2 to 3 taps to select the item you want.

If you want a touch screen phone. Without a doubt would be the dare. If you want a keyboard like you were discussing i would get the enV2.

As far as the centro. It's not bad. Just the keyboard is so freaking tiny.

I flash verizon phones for a living...

I still say the Voyager is a POS. The juke is a good phone, my girlfriend loves it but I would never have it for myself. Either way the voyager sucks.

i hope your kidding with the juke comment. The swivel hinge breaks after like 3 months. And it gets half the reception of lg phones.

samsung suck. Would never buy one on verizon's network.

funny, i got the exact same notice the day i was trying to find a way out of my contract so i could go get an iphone

i plan to get the new chocolate. essentially just an upgrade to my VX8600. i <3 flip phones

my plan is to buy it, sell it on ebay, and use the money to pay the EFT to get an iphone

choco 3 is 300 retail...so i doubt it would go for more than that on ebay. Then less your 175 etf. So you have 125. You still need 75 towards the iphone. Plus what you initially paid for the choco 3. Why not wait till your contract is up?

i'm about to call verizon to find out if i can use my new every 2 and online discount to get the choco 3. my new every 2 discount doesn't show up on the website, but i have that handy email.

if i can get the online discount and new every two discount, i can get the phone for $30 or so. sell it on ebay still in box for a decent amount, and put that towards EFT.

or, as you said, i'll probably just wait till january when my contract is up to switch to AT&T.... but that IS quite a ways away

just checked eBay, it's going for about $250 right now

My girlfriends is working just fine. I actually tried to break it the other day and it held up pretty good. I have seen quite a few that the hinges wear out but hers so far is holding up. The screen hurts your eyes to look at...and the camera sucks ass. But it's mostly a chicks phone anyway.

Yea, another iPhone lover! W00! Can't beat the new 3G iPhone. But every phone has their ups and downs. I just want an iPhone cause I've looked into it a lot, I'm bias towards Apple (love Apple products), and I've played with it at a store... it's damn well the sexiest phone I've yet to see (I've played with the Voyager as well. Currently have the enV. Love the QWERTY keyboard, but the iPhone...)

If u want a touch phone get the Dare..if u compair the touch to the Voyager its like night and day. Ive been with Vzw for over 2 years now...just picked up the dare after having the orginal enV. Its really easy to text on, and i do over 5000 a month (i know, im like a 16 year old girl) If u want a phone that does it all the Centro or the Blackberry is the way to go. I have a Pearl also and its amazing. If u use all the email/memo/calandar stuff, the phone works great.

Ended up picking up the Voyager. So far I LOVE it. Added unlimited internet to my plan. Yes it is a little bulky but I like using the side clip so it doesn't bother me. Got a nice case for it so that should help protect it alot. You guys had nothig but bad words for this phone but I am very happy with it. Ended up gettin it for 50 bucks too lol.
