What? Yes the R/T muffler will bolt up to the SXT exhaust, but you're going to have to cut some holes in the bumper as I don't think the tailpipes are going to fit.

Or you could hang it lower, but depending on the bumper that may not be an option. I think you could get away with it on the 00-01 style SE bumpers, but I think the SXT bumpers are a bit lower. I know my SE bumper was only about an inch below the crash bar, so it wouldn't have been an issue.

I tried that on mine with the SRT rear section. F*cking thing never got hot enough to even burn the paint. I even thought I'd be slick and spayed non stick cooking oil on the pipes, so the plastic wouldn't stick. Man did I get :owned:

Would the R/T exhaust line up with the cut out from an SRT bumper? If so, just swap the bumpers too, if you can get one.

when i put my r/t m uffler on my 01 i needed an adapter to fit it because i have 2.5 piping, but it reduces at the axle back part to like 2inch for the muffler to sleeve over it, the r/t was 2.5.. now on 03+ i dont know if yours reduces like that.. take off your muffler and check the I.D. and O.D. of where it connects..

and when you get it on if one side hangs lower than the other, which alot of peoples has i believe it was driver sde.. a cheap trick is to get a CAI clamp, and wrap it around the rubber hanger so you can tighten it up and make it even..

I 'm jumping on this bandwagon. I have an 05 SXT with an R/T muffler coming. I also have an uncut lip kit on the rear. Am I correct in thinking that it will bolt right up in terms of exhaust pipe sizing but will hang low the bottom of the rear bumper? I know I need to cut the lip kit but do I need to cut the stock bumper as well?

Thanks
Nikolas

When I had my exhaust installed It fit with the rear bumper...alright... I have 2.5" piping as well. The reason I say it fit alright is because it did burn a bit of the bumper on the right side, but not the left.
