Hey whats up everyone
Im currently new to this site, but ive used it before for a cam swap in my 05 sxt. My car currently has a cam, intake full exhaust and spray, but i wanna do something more. Ive decided on a motor swap (srt-4) and just had some questions for ppl that did the swap. If you could give me a complete list of parts i need to do the swap and where the best place to find a motor/tranny. (how much does the swap generally cost)
Further more, exactly how hard is the swap to do. I found some guys that would do it for 5,500 including all the parts to do it. I would really like to do it myself though. and last question, was the swap worth it. Thanks for the help.

There is a sticky at the top of this forum sub section that has all that you need to know about parts needed.
Generally the swap costs between 3500 to 5000 (5500 probably includes his labor)
As for whether or not it was worth it.... I will say definitely YES!!!!!!!!

I found mine on Ebay, then some show up on Craigslist. As for problems, everyone seems to have different problems and the best thing is just to be patient in working them out.
I've got my progress log linked in my sig if you want to see my swap, and there is a thread here of everyone else that has done a swap as well.

After doing one, I came to the conclusion, If your going to do it, do it, and don't worry about how much it will cost until your done. If you can't do it yourself, have a competent mechanic you trust do it. Don't come here and ask what problems you will run into, just have an idea of what could happen. Odds are, the ones you really don't expect to happen will happen...
It was totally worth it when I did it.
Your best bet is to basically strip an SRT. It will save you lots of hassles if you can get all the wiring harnesses and what not to.
