Thanks.... It won't be a competition sounding box but that's fine with me... As long as there is no rattle and it has good quality bass I'll b happy... It's only a 10 so it should b exactly what I was lookin for... This thing is best of both worlds... I have storage, I have little bump and if I need to use the trunk as a trunk I can...

Out of curiosity how does the system sound. You lose about 3db going sealed ( I prefer sealed for a daily system ) , another 1-2 DB using fiberglass. Neons inherrently sound best ( loudest ) with a sub fired towards trunk ( it helps with the resonant frequency and distance to cabin and has to do with the "wave" ) not to mention blocking the escape path ( back seat ) will cut it down a bit to.

I know your goal is obviously not SPL but a single 12" needs all the help it can get and although it certainly looks very nice judging from experience people outside are going to hear more than you will in cabin.

For reference for those not keen on audio and think eh whats a few DB. If your car hits say 140db ( very respectable for a everyday system ) a upgrade that nets you 143DB is actually and sounds twice as loud and vice versa 137db would be half as loud.

chew, i think the goal was to have a clean looking system with trunk space while having a little bass at the same time. the problem with sums is that they take up valuable trunk space generally

True but a sealed box custom fiberglassed into the back part of spare tire well angled just slightly up should net you good response and about a 6db increase with about a 3/4 wave, place the amp on the sides in the rear and you also get way less trunk rattle and it still looks clean.

Just a friendly suggestion to get the most "bang" out of an investment.

That strut bar is nice, how did you get the measurements? I don't think there is a "stock" one, did you have to fabricate it?

Thanks everyone..... First off the sub sounds perfect!!!!!!!! No trunk rattle and it sounds exactly like I wanted to...
Picture this... When U watch a movie at ur house u want a really good surround sound. (Home theater) well that's the whole idea for the sub... I want bass when it's needed... I hate when u can hear a car 5 miles away and when it drives by all I here is trunk rattle... I spent bout an hour tunning the new 6x9's Nd subs to balance perfectly... I'm getting new 6.5's soon to complete my surround sound car system lol.
This is a fiberglass sub but with mdf base and several layers of fiberglass. It's sealed except the hole for wires and two small holes just to let it breath. The sub is a 900 watt nd the amp is 2500 watt

This idea is open for tweaking or stealing... This was the best of both worlds... Storage space and little bass...

love the wrapped door pieces. They came out very nice. not quite diggin the sub box wrapped in leather. Think it looked a lot better in the trunk carpet.
