Any one know if 215 (width) tire would rub on the rear tension strut?
i guess the wheel offset will play a role in this, any idea what offsets should be safe?
I am basically going with SRT springs and struts, possibly SRT wheels and tires also. 215-45-17 are much cheaper than the stock SRT 205-50-17 + there is a better selection of tires....
thanks

if you get srt struts you can run up to like a 245 tire as long as the offset and width are right.. like you can fit an 8 inch wide wheel.

yeah, but my concern is with the rear tension strut. the SRT stock tension strut allows for more clearence than the neon.....
any one have more input on this?
thanks
Edit: Krc21, this is what i am worried about.....

yeah i know.. im on tokico struts.. same as stock neon and i run 215 tires.. its fine and i even have 40 offset if i had 35 offset i would have alot more room... width wise but couldnt go bigger to to the strut perch type.. cant wait to get my coilovers.. then i will be selling my wheels and getting some wide 17s or 16s with more rubber.

so you have a 40+ offset now, with a 7" rim ? I thought the SRT rims were 6" (which is what your picture shows)?
Basically, i need to confirm that a 215 tire, with 7" rim, and an offset of 40+ would clear the stock tension strut...?
thanks,

SRT tension struts and Neon tension struts are the same. It's the SRT rear knuckle that is different. The SRT knuckles move the tension rods inboard allowing wider tires.

You can run a 215 tire on stock tension struts I'm pretty sure.

So many neons so little time.

i have 17x 7 inch wheels, with 40mm offset and ran 215/40/17 no problem.... 215/45 should fit with srt struts, but as for your question the 215/40 fit perfect on stock struts and 7inch wheel

Don't know what to tell you about the tension struts, check the Chrysler parts catalog, it does not differentiate between Neon and SRT, if you went to the dealer and bought one for a Neon and one for a SRT, you'd have the exact same part. The knuckle on the other hand does have different numbers for Neon and SRT.

Do Neons and SRT 4 share same suspension parts?

I have 18x8 wheels with 225/40 tires, and I'm incredibly close, but not touching the tension strut. I think you'll be just fine
