Eclipse engine swap.

I'm still researching this so please don't flame me.

I have a friend who has a '97 Eclipse and has the 420A 2.0l motor in it. I'm thinking that since getting a 4g43 motor in it will be a pain in the ass because of the motor mounts, what about an SRT4 motor? Can somebody point me in the right direction for something like this?

Wait... you want to put an SRT engine in an Eclipse? Hell if you have the money you can do anything.

that concepts always ran thru my mind
ive always wanted to get a 1st gen eclipse like i used to have and swap an srt4 drivetrain into it

Some NA eclipse guys have done the 2.4 swap it isnt too much different than a neon one so the SRT would be similar as well.

weren't the 1gn and same period eclipse built on the same platform?... I thought I heard something about that a long time ago, so if that is the case then I can't see why it work then since people put srt engines into 1gns.... I dunno.

Nah I'm good.
My big concern is getting the motor and trans mounted to the car. My second concern is will the axles bolt up or will we have some fabbing to do there?

Thanks for the info guys, I'm off to do more research.
