Next Mod Suggestions?

Post by KB Fear » Thu Jul 24, 2008 3:21 pm

So I have some extra cash from a summer co-op job, and I'm looking to spend it on my neon (of course).

Currently she has a CAI (albeit an ebay one), mpx 60mm tb, some aftermarket muffler (from previous owner), prothane mm inserts, and a few visuals mods.

I was thinking of doing either of the following:
1). Upgrade the stock 02 ES suspension with Tokico HP Struts and Eibach pro kit springs and swaybars to lower it a bit and make it more fun to drive.

or

2). An mpx UDP, MSD coilpack, MSD wires, NGK plugs, and maybe a few other things to make it look a little nicer under the hood and squeeze another horse or two outta my atx.

I'm leaning more towards the suspension, but is there anything else I would probably need to get other than what comes with the the kits from mp?

Any insight is greatly appreciated, you guys know a hell of a lot more than me lol

Alright thanks, so if I do go with the suspension (probably will) should all the parts for installation be provided with the aforementioned kits on Modern's site?
Or is there anything else that I would need/you would suggest to get?

UDP because it's cheap and will allow the car to be driveable with the A/C on.

Think about doing a shitload of little inexpensive mods opposed to big ones that cost money.

-Black out headliner $30?
-Black out side markers $2
-Lower Control Arm Bushings $35
-UDP $45 (used)
-SRT sway bars $20

I wouldn't waste my money on plugs and wires ,the gains aren't worth it. But there are a bunch of tiny things you can do and spread the money around...

+1 on doing the suspension first, then get an UDP. If you look at my list of mods, coming from a fellow ATX driver, is my car fun? YUP, did I spend a load to get her where she is today? CHECK. What was the best bang for the buck mod(s) I've done? 1: suspension 2: 60mmTB 3: UDP. It may not be the same plans you have, but it might serve as a guide. Hope that helps!

Suspension it is.
Thank ya guys.

Struts + Springs + Sway bars = Everything?

Or would a bushing kit be worth it too?

If you want, you might as well get a bushing kit as well. It should tighten things up a bit. Oh yeah, and look into strut tower bars.

Suspension and brakes should always come first. ;)
