Opnions on hood? (For teh cobalt)

Post by Mr Josh Zombie » Wed Jul 30, 2008 1:57 pm

I was waxing the car the other day, noticed a few rock chips and spider cracks in the paint... then i realized that paint chips = rust on OEM hood, and i am not about to deal with that headache down the line.

So I was looking at aftermarket hoods, and came across this one. Personally one of my favorites i've found. Opinions?

Just my opinion but it looks like its trying to be a srt, although it does look nice so I say go for it.

I does remind me of a SRT hood only bigger. That isn't a bad thing though. I vote to get it
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

It looks good. However, it does kill the overall cleanliness of your car.

I'm on the fence.

That looks good...I would get it. The stock look doesn't really have an edge that this hood provides.

haha, yea i'm in the same boat right now. i like the looks (the scoop could be a bit smaller...) it is functional (which would help consider these engines get hot as hell with the s/c) but i am trying to keep a clean flow of things. eventually i'm taking off the high-rise wing for something more subtle and dropping to smaller rims...

ahhhhh decesions

Its a nice hood, but doesn't flow properlly. I like the car the way it is right now. Get a different spoiler, and you will be all set.

BTW: Headlights are finished, just waiting for the silicone/RTV/paint to dry :)

Whoa those other 2 hoods are getting extremely ricey.

Just get the one you mentioned or stay heatsoaking stock

Do you notice much heatsoaking btw? I heard the SRT-6 which is SC does quite a bit

I've seen your car way too much recently, and I have to say it looks perfect the way it is...

Its lowered, and your already tinted everywhere, keep it as is... But of course, if you like the hood, then buy it. Its your car, and you'll be looking at it more than me.

However, if you do get one the one you posted is the nicest. Reminds me of an enlarged last gen mustang hood.

Wings coming off eventually and RK sport wing is going on. As said, I just do -not- want a steel hood. Hell, i don't even want steel fenders but I'm not dealing with that pain in the ass. those have less of a chance of getting rock chips and rusting anyways.

Thanks for the opinions guys. i'm still up in the air a bit. I've got until spring to decide anyways ;)

I forgot about the RK wing, hood would look really good with that wing.

The more I'm thinking about it, if you put some red LED's in that hood scoop and got them to swish back and forth... no, nvm, youre car isn't worthy of that honor!
