back to the 02 troubles

Post by ragek23 » Sat Aug 02, 2008 1:16 pm

ok i hooked up a realtime data recorder to the odbII and it is showing that the o2 sensor does not fluctuate in voltage at all. I am getting a P0132 code: o2 upflow sensor high voltage.

what could be the cause for the voltage not changing at all even when the throttle is pressed?

i am thinking bad PCM?

More like bad/fried upstream O2? Do you have a downstream ?O2 hooked up + if so is THAT reading correctly?

IIRC the upstream is a 4 wire setup, the downstream is a 2 wire. You really can't get them backwards because they woldn't connect to the plugs. I could be wrong though, I'm goin clean from memory at the moment... You could try a search here, I know there was a F/S post where someone was selling a bunch of used O2's both up + downstream + they had posted pics of them, maybe that might help you decipher them for now??

IIRC they are both 4 wires as they both have heaters to get them to operating temp ASAP. Emmision controls  (sarcasm)
But I also think the connectors are different, even tho the actual sensor is the same. Screwing the consumer FTW! Can't have the intelligent ones easily swapping them to diagnose problems! :slap:

the upstream is supposed to read high voltage and them read low voltage...switching back and fourth

the downstream is supposed to be pretty level or constant voltage

have you tried replacing the upstream o2? we get that code alot at work (more so in RX's) and we just replace them...
