Post by haste4daylight » Sun Aug 10, 2008 10:55 pm

i had best buy install my car audio and its been about 4 or 5 months since and i rencently found that my subwoofers go in and out. Would this be likely because of the ground wire?

i think what he means is there's like a pulsing, itll push out go back, pull in, go back......all the while its still playing music...

only time i seen that happen was someone brought their car to me and it was caused by his capacitor

i think what he means is that the sub goes on and off (in and out as working and not working sporadically).

could be a loose ground wire, could be a faulty connection at the battery (corrosion, etc), could be the amp overheating.

could be a number of things...
start with your ground, then check your amp....is your amp over heating?
put a DMM on your amp and see if ur getting massive voltage drops.

what do you mean by pumping on and off, do they cut off completely and cut on or do they pulse, what your describing can be so many different things. also itll help if you give some info on your setup

Hmmm well, check your ground to make sure you scratched all the paint off of the area you grounded to. If the subs are turning off when you turn the volume high, then that means your amp cant handle the power and is automatically turning off until you lower the volume. If none of these are the problem, take your deck out and check all the wires that run into it.
