few questions on which trans to get in your opinion
ok so i have a 4 speed atx trans with they skim key and i want to go to a 5 speed manual which tranny will hold up the best and should i go with a cable clutch or a hydro clutch????
I would recommend the 3.94 tranny found in 00-04 rt/acr models. Not easy to find but well worth it from what i've heard. A 3.55 would be your next option, the standard 5 speed found in all 00-05 mtx neons. The cable clutch was only available in early 00 models IIRC, and was repalced with the hydraulic unit for a reason. The newer style clutch is definatly the way to go. Good luck

cable clutch was done away with half way through 01...just fyi...
since you have an 04, you're gonna want a hydro setup.
you'll need transmission, pcm from a manual car, axles, shift linkage, shifter assembly, pedals, i'm sure i'm missing something else, i just woke up, so my brain isnt working properly yet

didn't someone recently swap to an MTX in an NGC car and have problems hitting the 4000rpm rev limiter, even with the MTX computer?
or did he get that fixed?
