save the money....
I'm serious.
Or at least save it to buy a turbo eventually. The one thing I hate about my car(besides the fact that its an ATX) is the fact that I don't have a turbo.

dude wait another year if you have to and save up 5 or 6 grand total and do a swap. trust me.. all the stuff you blow 2000 bucks on now will be worthless to you. you will always want more power..

I know if I had 2g's id be all over a mag swap, 3.94 trans, MS, and some tuning time on a dyno. Thats me though, im goin the NA route. You can make more power with boost, maybe not for two grand, but you can be well on your way if you spend the money right.
P.S. NGC or not, NO stock neon computer can be tuned for boost.

Seriously, like Nutmeg said, just save it.
If you still have it saved next year you could get the ASP turbo kit. I'm sure that will make you much happier.

Possibly, but for myself I find a Neon that handles well is more fun than raw power. My car is no slouch, but nowhere turbo level of course. But even now I still don't have the bug to push more power. Well, much anyway
IMO, save the money. If you aren't going to, then build it up like an R/T but really focus on the suspension and braking.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Start scouring junkyards, or keep you eyes open for a whole car for sale. You may get lucky and find a wrecked R/T for sale.
Keep in mind that a good suspension build can get very expensive as well. Check out my garage to see what I have in mine

I would go with the suspension overhaul first, then go for more power when your Neon can handle it..... Just my .02
