Post by moparknighthawk » Thu Aug 11, 2005 4:34 pm

For gas these days? In the great town of Brunswick, MD (near Frederick, MD) I am paying 2.399 for 87 octane. How about you?

This morning it was 2.49 for 87... 2.69 for 93. I've got less than a 1/4 tank in the trunk to drive to work so I'm trying to make it last as long as possible and hope the price drops, either that or i'm only putting in a few bucks to buy some time.

FYI... Chillaxed04bluSXT, consider your gas thread gone ;-)

2.69 for 93 octane at shell. BP 93oct. going for 2.70 I have an over 20 mile trip in heavy traffic to work every day; over 40 miles per day total. This fuel crisis hits the wallet real bad.

Just paid $2.39 a gallon this morning for 87 octane at Sheetz. Filled 'er up so I can see how many miles I can get from a tank. I discovered today that the Neon's gas tank is like 10 gallons... Kinda' funny.

12 gallon tank... even though you can only fill 10... gas light = 3 gallons left.

Actually, you can fill 90% of the tanks capacity, the extra 10% is for expansion. So you can fit like 10.8 gallons in there.

Oh, and I believe I am winning in the Gas prices:

San Jose, California: 2.71 for 87, 2.93 for 91

Oh, and in San Francisco: 3.04 for 87

Corrected again. Gas light was on for two days. I was able to only put in 8.137 gallons so I figured 10 gallons. Thanks for correcting me on my Neon gas tank knowledge. ;)

The Neon's gas tank holds 12.5 gallons (per websites and Dodge.com, thats total including all reserves). My price update, I was lazy last night and waiting to fill the Neon. So, I paid the price. 2.499! It went up 10 cents overnight.

Thank goodness I am averaging 27-31 MPG right now. :D

I saw that picture a few years ago when people were bugging out over 1.40 a gallon.
Its $2.44 for 87 here and 2.57 for 89... I can go right across the river to Missiour though and its always 7 cents cheaper

I read in the Erie Times paper yesterday that the prices will continue to rise through mid-next week and should peak and hover around $2.79 (around here) per US gallon for a week or so. They're also predicting that after August the prices will come back down to a slightly more affordable $2.49 per gallon.

This blows.

Tonight in Franklin, TN it was $2.35 for regular unlended. Of course that goes up and down all the dad gum time.
