Cig lighter/Acc. output thingy
Cig lighter/Acc. output thingy
Is there a fuse to the Cig lighter?? MIne has gone out, and I can't figure out if it's gone bad because I'm using it as a constant lead for other things, or just a fuse has blown?!
STuff Happens?!

True ..... Confirmed !Craz1000 wrote:there should be one under the hood, also its ood that you said that its used as a constant lead, the cig lighter turns on and off with the key
I finally found the reason my cig lighter hasn't been working since I bought the car !!
It's a 20A fuse, in the fuse box located under the hood. ( I forget which one, but it's marked on the diagram which is underneath on the inside of the fuse box cover.)
So you could say the cig circuit is double-fused ...... once under the hood, and again in the fuse panel on the side of the dash.
Thanks to everyone who gave me this tip.

usually if any the cig lighter fuse blow due to "natural causes" its usually the one under the hood because its the closest to the battery/charging system, also that specific fuse fuses alot of other circuits. some cars like chevy's in addition to the 2nd fuse in the interior fuse panel theres a 3rd fuse that affects that circuit too that is NOT labled as a cig-lighter fuse, is usually labled as an ACC or Cluster fuse. which it is true it is a cluster or acc fuse but it will also cut power to the cig-lighter.
some Asian and Fords do the same thing but the 3rd fuse is the radio fuse instead of the Acc or Cluster. usually euros do what it says they do and nothing else

There are TWO 20-amp fuses, so be sure to check the correct one .....norman426 wrote:is it a 20 amp? for the cig?
I know. I once tried to reset my PCM on my 2000 by pulling the wrong fuse ..... not knowing it was the Cig./Acc.fuse.
