On a stock SE/SXT engine/piping prolly not enough to notice. It does seem to change the sound tho. I can't see why it wouldn't make a better diference with mods, but most ppl on here are going to jump on the LTH bandwagon. If you can get a used one for under $75 go for it. If you had to spend for a new one go mid length/LTH. Unless you don't want the hassle of moving the cat/o2 sensor, if you are emmisions consious. Just my $0.02

So you have a stock exhaust manifold on there right now with a stock cat. converter? Just want to make sure your aren't confusing the down pipe as part of the exhaust manifold.

If so, It should be a matter of having a muffler shop cut out the old converter and weld the new one in. You don't need to change the header for that, but a borla header is the best shorty out there.

The R/T unit is made by Borla. If your 2000 is the ULEV it has a cat built into the manifold, and one after the manifold, so the R/T manifold will definately be an upgrade. If the Magnaflow cat isn't a direct fit unit, see if an exhaust shop can cut the flange off your original cat and weld it to the new one, so it bolts up to the R/T header. The cleaner the install appears the better the chance to pass inspection. Just hope they aren't sticklers for matching the VIN to the exhaust configuration. If they just go with tailpipe testing you may not need to worry so much about visual.
If the Pacesetter is the 1gn style you will need to get the doughnut/spring bolt set up to attach it to the cat. Examples follow:

Oh I see, it's another one of those special 2000 year oddities. In that case I'm not sure. I do know that magnaflow cat is OBDII compliant so emissions shouldn't be a problem.

I knew borla made the r/t header, but I thought they offered it for the non-mag with matching exhaust ports. Pacesetter is okay for replacement exhaust, but not known for any performance.

A good muffler shop could weld the cat in for you pretty easily. I would get rid of that stock pre-cat if you can though, I'm sure it's a big bottle neck on the exhaust. You could always buy a cheap ebay or obx header to save some $$.

I didn't realize that setup has a bolt in cat as well, that makes a big difference. In that case, the r/t should be a nice improvement. Even a pacesetter would probably be better.

Is the ULEV neon the one that has 2" exhaust piping as well?

yeah that is the one with the 2 inch piping.. you would probably get a big gain to if you threw a full exhaust on their with the cat and header.. because the piping would be bigger
