nice!

a little fyi about the head unit.

I believe the outputs are only 2v for those models still... ipod control is great though!

my friend had the old model of that head and he ended up putting his old pioneer unit back in to get the loudness back from his sub.

dont let that discourage you though its still an awesome product!

well see the thing is that if you go just a step down, there's no LCD display and it'll look like Alpine's have forever, but you can still plat CDs and it comes with the same iPod hookup

and no, that one has the 4.5v outputs, the "lesser" model that only plays iPod is a 5v. the step down (what i have) is also a 5v

Awwwww, it was fun! Thanks for helping me pick-n-choose the right parts :) Oh, btw...I ordered all the gaskets/bolts for the intake manifold and the valve cover...$148 later!

And yes, he is correct...I looked at Crutchfield and they said all the preamps are 2V, which oh well...the Panasonic I have now is 2.5V so it's not that big of a difference.

Now I must say, I was honestly a little dissapointed to see quite a bit of sand particles in the valve cover...I don't know if I can get it out or not. Otherwise they look good. The intake manifold came out great! Just wish he coulda got the damn thing to come apart without the fear of breaking it. STUPID MANCINI RACING!

I got my rear Mopar strut bar yesterday at work, bought a used (but looks new) trunk lining kit, along with my Iceman intake for a Magnum because I wanted a Magnum bellows tube, so I'll be taking my non-Mag bellows tube and sell it with the rest of the other intake. The Mag bellows tube is blue, but a few coats of Krylon Fusion matte black will make it look right at home :)
Image

On the other hand, I should have gotten the Mopar front bar as well, but discovered that the front bars are in a Nation-wide backorder and have been for some time. Now I'm on the hunt for a nice used one.

Monday I should be getting a few things, and Tuesday the majority of the rest will be here, along with more coming on Wednesday. Keep checkin for updates!

Nope, I'm just gonna fab up a plate to go over it and get it painted/powder coated Hemi Orange. A funtional R/T intake manifold wouldn't give me the gains that would make it worth making it funtional.

Really beautiful car and nice progress!! I'm curious from which year of cavalier did you take off that wing and did it came with the braking light on it? It's the most wonderful spoiler I saw that blends in really good with the sx styling! I want one!

Good luck on the project!

Thanks dude! The spoiler I got was on eBay and was an aftermarket fiberglass unit, not factory. The years it came on was '95-'02 Z24. It was without the brakelight, which I was really suprised! I love it and would never buy any other spoiler for a Neon!

Another update...got more parts in today! I recieved the Hawk Performance brake pads and the old-school oil cap in today at work, and when I got home I had the NGK Iridium plugs waiting for me :) The majority of the stuff will be showing up at work tomorrow.

A medley of toys for Naiya!

I'm gonna have to do some fabbing to the oil cap to make it work, but damnit, it WILL work! LoL! I was skeptical on how it would look, but I am very pleased on how good it looks! I'll probably end up getting it the same orange as the valve cover and the intake manifold, but it doesn't look all that bad in chrome. I also have to figure out what I'm gonna do about the valve cover...there's a crap-load of sand in it and it isn't too appealing. There's a local guy that does powder coating, but haven't heard much about him. Just that he does all the coating for Cirrus airplanes, so he must be pretty good at it. I just don't know if I wanna hassle with shipping it back to the guy in Rhode Island, and vice versa. I'd like to see the results in person before it's handed back to me so I can say that I'm happy or not happy with it. I dunno...I must ponder this. Just sucks that I put money into it and might have to dump more into it. And no, I don't blame Crystalmarie at all...she has problems with one of her eyes and can't see a lot of stuff that someone with two perfect eyes can see. She has a problem with depth perception and when I showed her pictures of the valve cover, she said "That cover wouldn't have left his shop if I would have saw that" and I whole-heartedly believe her on that. She would never hand me something she believes to be crap, and we both have the same tastes in quality. Ok, end rant :) Stay tuned for more parts coming in tomorow!

I thought powdercoating was supposed to be really smooth and clean compared to paint.

I dunno. I'm gonna call Jeff tomorrow and talk to him about re-doing it. I'm hoping he'll be reasonable and won't charge me for the stripping and re-coating it because I paid to have it done once, and I'm sorry to say, but the coating job on the valve cover is not acceptable.

And about it being smooth and such...you CAN wetsand and buff it to get it a smooth finish, but in this case, it's not going to work. Eastwood Company forums are GREAT for powder coating info!

Oh btw, Chuck from Maddog STS is starting to work on my custom pistol grip shifter...we have to discuss which model and throw and such, but I'm hoping we'll come to a decision very shortly :)

I hear Chuck does make the best STS's out there, and he's a helluva guy (no matter what I say about him) so your shifter is going to be friggin amazing, I'm sure!

Pistol Grips are awesome. I don't know if you are going with the original style pistol grip of not, but the style I had I loved. I've been thinking of putting it back in.
