The eBay/Modern projectors aren't my favorite, but I need projectors badly, so these will suffice for now. I'm going to make them look much better. Darn...I gotta order new bulbs too!

Well the auction ended with me being the winner of sxxxt's projector headlights. When I get them, I am going to take them apart, strip the chrome off, fiberglass over the upper turn signal part above the projectors, and paint them flat black. The 3 LED's on the side of the headlights will be amber and will be my turn signals, and I'm going to change the LEDs in the halos as well so they are a vibrant blue, but will wire them to a switch, so I can flip them on/off as I please. They should look pretty bitchin when I'm done, but I'm not going to rush this...I want to do them perfect the first time.

And sxxxt...the only reason I made them lighter is because the cops kept on pulling me over for them being too dark.

Sorry Chris, sxxxt traded me his headlights in exchange of me re-stitching his shift boot and steering wheel.

Man...my progress thread is going to suck for a long time cuz I'm looking to buy a house, so any extra funding is going in savings for a down payment. There will be a little bit of progress when I get my headlights from sxxxt though, but other than that, Naiya is pretty much done for quite a while. My next project will be my house (when I find one I want). I hooked up with my realtor today and looked at 7 houses...out of them, I liked 3, so we're making a lil progress.

Yeah, I'm hoping the projectors make a big difference. I know they'll look 100x better when I'm done with them. And thanks, I love how the tails came out! When it's cloudy, it's kinda dark, but when it's nice and sunny out, you can totally see through the lenses.

Well today I got a package from UPS...my headlights! They need some cleaning up, but will be very nice when they're done. I still have to see if he's going to give me those 6 LEDs that fit into those 3 holes of each headlight...I hope so. Otherwise I'll have to fab something up. They have some crap on the lens from the adhesive stuff from the eyelids, but I'll get that off.

Those LED's aren't too expensive, do you have the plugs for them?

Yup, that's how I figured out how to wire mine. Er, the ones that used to be mine.

I wonder if the new owner knows how to wire them...

I got ahold of sxxxt and he said he'd be sending the LEDs to me soon. I just ordered new halo leds in blue from superbrightleds.com (found a how-to somewhere online for the headlight halos) and I might try popping off the lenses this weekend if I'm bored.

Well honestly, it's not going to change much. I was going to fiberglass the upper turn signal area closed so it wouldn't have that empty space, since the turn signals will be the 3 LEDs on the sides of the headlights, but I decided to just bomb can the whole shroud flat black instead so it will just be hidden and not as noticeable as when it was chrome. I'm also going to have to redo the eyelids obviously because they are vinyl, but I may just look around for some fiberglass shortys, since the vinyl is a hassle.

There is nothing I can do about the lens bulge (needed to clear the projector), but it honestly doesn't bother me that much. I just didn't have the money to do retros and saw these and made a deal. Can't go wrong with that!

if you are going to open them might as well get a decent set of projectors and do your own retro

Okay, cool. Once I get the LEDs from ya, I'll let you know if I need anymore help wiring them up.

Anyways, I got to work on the headlights today. Went to Harbor Freight and bought a cheap heat gun and an accessory box with different attachments, and so far I have one lens off...wow, these things need a wicked good cleaning, but that's not a biggie. Not sure if he took apart the headlights before, but I'm definately going to have to remove all of the grey goop used to seal them and when all is said and done, use some nice clear stuff. This should be a fun project and am looking forward to it!

Oh yeah, I bought some Dupli-Color high-temp low-gloss black engine enamel to spray them with. Yay :)

Pics of the progress will follow later today.

And a little injury being careless with the paint scraper tool that came with the heat gun accessory kit (used it to pry the lens/shroud from the basket)

Right now I'd just like to remove the projector to clean it, clean the basket, and scuff the shroud and get it ready for primer.

yea when u go to paint it make sure u use a grey scotch bright pad and scuff every little bit. and when u think u have it all scuffed go over it again so u get everything cuz u dont want it to chip. and sorry again about it bein dirty.
