Calling all Blaze Red Neons

Post by Mopar65 » Sun Sep 07, 2008 11:16 am

Looking to see if anyone out there with a blaze red neon has nightshaded their stock tailights. If so could you send or post a pciture. I really want to do this to mine, but I can't imagine how it will look. Thanks.

Search for 03SXT, Mike did his and they look really nice. He just used a light coat.

Here's a shot of mine. Flame red and 02 tails, but it might help.

You could always go the lazy route and get the tinted vinyl overlays.

I did that, and now I am pulling them off. The weather is making the vinyl stretch and contract and now it is getting loose on there. So now I am going to nightshade spray mine.

Thanks, Canada. ;) Here's a few pics of mine shortly after I did them. They've faded considerably because of the stuff I used... Not NightShades, but the "Spray Window Tint" made by the same VHT company... Long story. Ask anyone that was at Carlisle that year.

Thanks guys that really helps. I think I'm gonna wetsand the tails with high grit then hit them with the VHT nightshade spray. Great rides guys. Thanks again.

Just remember the clear coat them afterward, it will fade and get cancer otherwise.

03SXT, why isn't your rear lip all the way up where it should be??

Because mine was one of the earlier '03 models. If you notice on the later '03 models, the bubbles on the rear bumper are actually lower and the lip kits were made for the later style. I didn't have any of the "X"'s to use for the drill marks either with the lip kit install. That sucked big time.

huh.... I realized they looked different after I posted the question. I never knew that they older '03s had smaller "bumper boobs" than the later ones. I just thought they didn't have the X's. huh... Ya learn something new everyday!

Yeah, you should have seen my face when I was test-fitting the lip kit.

I almost cried. I made it work, though. I don't think it looks bad at all and it almost looks like it's supposed to look like that until you get it next to a newer one with a lip kit.

yeah, it doesn't look bad at all... just different. I thought you somehow mounted it down lower.
