Some details would be good... or some pics of the wheels? If the're in crap shape then offer him a quarter, I suppose?

there in good shape no curb rash or anything, they still have the yellow goodyears on them. He took them off after about 2k miles and put different rims on he had them in his garage when i was looking at a different car

Those are hard to find, so if he's selling, he'll probably want a premium for them, you'd probably be better off just getting some aftermarket rims, you'll probably get them cheaper.

Just ask him what he has in mind, he may have no idea what he has.

If he's not particularly partial to them, and you don't want the yellow letter Goodyears, offer to buy just the wheels and let him keep the good tires. You may be able to get them for cheap.
