remote power for amp/ high level input

does the factory radio have a switched output remote wire.

Since some cars had the factory kicker sub\amp i thought it should have a switched 12volt wire

Also the amp i have only had rca inputs but it says this on the webpage

The RCA low-level inputs on the 475a have allow for connection to both a preamp level signal and direct connection to a high-level factory head unit.

does that me i can just take a pair of rca cables and splice them to the speaker outputs on my stereo

no none of them do, the kicker system is tied to the accesory circuit

how much of a draw would the amp have being powered but not being used. I may just put a switch if it draws too much or get a line converter that has a trigger built in it.

the last thing you want is a LOC with a trigger built into it, the potential of line noise is so high its not worth it. you want your voltage supplies and signal supplies as far away as humanly possible from eachother

no you cannot cut RCA's and wire it directly, theres a seperate input just for the high side which again increases the potential for line noise, if you pit hi-level into the low-level it may damage the amp immediately or sorten its life dramatically

the best way for this is to run a power wire to the battery, run ground to the body. REM gets tapped into the cig lighter circuit. get a LOC and tap the speaker lines along the bottom of the back seat and hide the LOC under the seat and run your RCA's accordingly.... or you can get an aftermarket deck which will give you a way cleaner low-level signal and a REM line for your convinence

amp draw on the trigger side is less than 1amp

huh don't know why it says that in the manual then as their is no high level input plug anywhere on it.

if you look at the manual available your going to see something next to the RCA's shaded in gray, thats your hi level input. if that isnt it and the manual isnt very clear about it then i would assume it dose go though the RCA's which is a first

while i got the manual out... theres no efficency rating... so im going to use 85% since its the standard, and a minimum for any amp to call itself good

70a*13.5v=945 total max wattage
945/4=236w max a channel @ 2ohms
236/2=118w max a channel @ 4ohms
118*.85=100W RMS true world output at 4ohms at each channel not the 75w listed. niiice

the gray area next to inputs is for a remote bass controller. I am positive that their is not separate input.

I just went out a got a loc and the instructions say to do the same thing as the amp says. turn the volume up to 3/4 and adjust the input volume till their is distortion.

Isn't the whole point of the input volume adjustment dials their for high level input?

that is a strange one. i have never seen low and hi inputs on the same thing, but that is what the manual says. i would find a number and calltheir tech support just to be sure on how to set it up.

the gain setting on an amp it there to adjust based on the input signal and prevent the amp from clipping. rca connections can range from 2v to 8v.

i hooked it up through a the rca cables and turned the volume dial down on the amp and it worked fine.

It was really noisy and the right channel did not work but i think it has to do with the 10 yr. old crappy rca ends i was using.
