keyless
i would like to be keyless in the car...i am not gonna eliminate the key locks on the doors in case of the battery dieing, but i would like to eliminate the ignition. i have the whole keyless entry sentry thing(2000 plymouth neon 5 spd) and this is my idea.
my key comes out of the ignition when the car is running, as its worn out quite a bit, and the car stays running...so does the system need the key in during only the ignition process? or does the key just need to be in close range of the system? if so i could tape it under the dash or something....
as for the steering lock i could turn the key to the on position, take it out, hide it under the dash, and i could wire a toggle to put the car in the 'on' position, and then wire a momentary switch for the starter....would that work?
if the system actually requires the key to be physically in the ignition, is there a way to bypass that?
so basically as an end result i would like no key in the ignition, a toggle switch to arm the system, basically to simulate the key being on, and then a momentary switch to start the car...
sorry for the long post with all of the questions and probably impossible scenarios...

u dont have to have the chipped key in the ignition to start it...there is a certian module thing u buy that u put withing 6-12 inches of the ignition and it sends the signal to the thing that the chip is there and the car can be started..
when i was installing my alarm, i thought my alarm was remote start too..so we got the module that u use to make the car think the chipped key is there, u just have to wire it in and it works....

hmmmmm

either way you can still use the 556UW, its cheap, easy to install wither you have a viper or nothing at all and its clean. you just have to give up a key
but now reading your second post i have another question... your using a button to supply power to the ignition circuit... the second you release that button the car will shut off.
unless your thinking in terms as a push button starter which is a completely different circuit than the ignition

yea i wrote it LOL it was for a push button starter, and the switch im guessing is for ignition that way he dosent have to use a key at all.
your going to have to use 3 or 4 relays then because there is 1 starter wire and depending on your year/model theres 2 or 3 ignition wires all have to be powered.
not to mention the additional 2 or 3 Accessory wires that have to be powered to so worst case that one switch has to trigger 6 relays

ok, well if you wouldnt mind writing up a little tutorial for me I would really apperciate it....its a 2000 Plymouth neon, 5 speed...And just for clarification, I just want a push button for the ignition, and a toggle switch to turn the power on for the car, the only thing I want a key for is the doors (just in case my RKE stops working) thanks!!!
most of it is written already on the stickey. the only difference is how to wire everything which ill show you here
ok on a relay your going to have 5 prongs they are numbered as follows, 30, 85, 86, 87, 87a
now with the switch this is how each wire that is an ACC, or IGN wire is going to be wired to the relay. ALSO if you have 2 12v constants which i think you do one constant will power the ACC and the others will power the IGN's. you must use 2 switches and have one control your ignition circuits and one for accesory to fully simulate the key and to prevent damage to your accesories.
1) ok at the switch run one line to ground and the other line to #85 to each relay you want to trigger.
2) wire your ACC and IGN wires to a seperate 12v wire and tie these to both #86 AND #87 on each relay; if you have only 1 12v constant wire then its ok too
3) cut the wire being relayed, the side going to the key cylender goes to #87a and the one going toward the engine goes to #30
4) the button is wired the exact same way and it MUST be tied to the same 12v source as your IGN set of relays
Transponder Bypass 556UW:
wire it accodingly and use your IGN circuits to power the box
Starting Procedure:
flip your IGN switch to ON, start the car, flip your ACC switch.
Shutting down:
flip your ACC first and when you flip your ign your car will shut off.
dont forget to fuse your new lines also
