^Agreed. I also run 205's and have the same issue. However, tire size only plays a partial role in traction. Tread design and compound can have a much greater effect on grip than another 5-10mm of rubber on the ground. A combination of a stickier tire with that extra contact patch is the key to ideal traction.
The tires I run are Yokohama V4S in 205/55/15, and with about 30psi in them they're pretty sticky. They're UHP all weather tires, but their ratings speak for themselves. AA traction, A temp, 500 treadwear. That's pretty much unheard of in my book. Couldnt pass them up. Next I plan to try the Falken Azenis 615's or maybe Yoko parada spec 2's, which are both MUCH stickier. You might have issues getting a 225 to clear your strut perches and rear torque arm though, so be careful. What wheels/offset do you run?
