Are srt-4's out of style?

speaking of limited production i tihnk ive only seen 3 ion redlines compared to several srt-4's.

That being said I have also seen a lot more SRT's around with new owners. I don't think they are going out of style, rather at least where I am, maybe coming back in style if you will with a new generation of owners.

Good point...I guess I wouldn't mind spending a few more bucks on gas with the current prices to drive a v-8 but when it gets SUPER overpriced I'll have to say enough is enough unless I get paid for inflation.

I know where that is. SparkPlug, your right, it's one of those smaller kind of independent dealers. I think their office is like a mobile home. And their not in the best area of town.

i talked to owner of that dealer ship he was trying to sell me an 03 srt for 14k. It was so beat up......

His mechanics love the srt- 4 so he is always trying to get them in stock. But he has no clue about them.

The neon isn't the best car in the world. There are better cars. The Neon is a great economic car, and with the SRT option it has some guts. But there are better.

Plus all of the new Dodge vehicles and some of the Jeeps have that crosshair grill, and its kind of overused.
Holy crap, are you guys (members of this forum in general) ever going to let it go that someone moved on from the Neon. Josh is been here for almost 2 years, in that time he has grown alot and helped alot. The same goes for Mox, Silver ES and anyone else who decides to move on from the Neon to a bigger and/or better or newer car. Think about this, if someone wants to go buy a car that is no more than 2 years old, the Neon is not an option. Dodge screwed themselves when they introduced the Caliber as the low price point vehicle. They took themselves out of the sport compact market when they didn't introduce a car with similar attributes to the Neon.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Some believe that the 03+ front is the "ugliest" front of any of the Neons. This could very easily be what Josh was refering to. What other word would you use to describe it? Dodge made a big design change around 2003, now all of the cars carry that one look. Sometimes it is good to break up the monotiny.

I will still be a mod and frequent this forum when I move on and sell the Neon in favor of driving my Monte Carlo SS. How are you going to feel then when a moderator no longer owns a Neon? It is not a membership requirement of this forum to own a Neon. Granted the Neon is what gets everyone started, but this forum is more than just a Neon forum. We are a community. We share almost everything here. There are some members who come here for legitamate advice in regards to their personal lives, because they are caught in a rough spot and need help. They turn to us for that help. We joke around a lot, but when things get serious we all get serious and genuinly try to help that person out.

We are NOT just an internet forum, we are a community, we are friends that never met face to face, we are a family, we are support, we are advice, we are tech help, we are critics, and we are jokesters.

While I would never challenge that statement as there are productive members of this forum that don't own neons anymore there is some truth to the statement that Mox does bash the neon quite a bit.

I understand he owned at least 1 and maybe more but that doesn't give him a right to bash Neons because had had one. I agree this is a community not JUST a neon community ... but at what point does that behavior just go against the objective of the community to provide support for one another?

Take Opi for example. He can be an ass. He can make you feel stupid as shit sometimes ... but he doesn't ALWAYS have something negative to say about neons, he moved on, I like his ride its nice and he has put a lot of work into it.

Mox is likewise onto other cars but is an ass to anyone that has an opinion other than his about Neons or otherwise.

i <3 some neons. would own one as a DD. probably would never own a SRT (unless it was under 15k miles... HA!)

but, a neon is not gods gift to man... nor is it the worst car ever. it is what it is, and what the owner makes of it. i wont hate on someone for loving their car, no matter what it is, or the pile of shit it is.

now, is it going out of style? only for their previous owners. cars don't ever really go out of style. people just move on.

I'm not sure you really know Mox all that well. I can't say that I do either but he is an informed member of this forum on Neons and when asked anything, he will give you an honest answer. Otherwise he generally likes to stir the pot and have fun with it. He moved on from Neons, so did Opi and Myself almost did. And if that were to occur I doubt that I'd leave this site because I left neons.

As for bashing Neons... Gosh, Mox is not the only person that does it... Lol... go check out some Honda forums or something of the like. In the end it is just a Neon, an inexpensive economy car. Take pride in the work that you have done.

You are correct, I don't know mox all that well. I know he had a Stage 3 SRT, I know he is informed and will give an honest answer if you ask him. I'm not disputing that. I'm saying he can be the harshest of assholes sometimes and to some people who really love the neon as a platform, econobox or not, that can come off in a negative way and can leave a bad impression.

I just don't always agree with the harshness sometimes. But overall its just my opinion, I'm not saying he's a bad guy, just very harsh on people and their opinion's sometimes.

key word is NEON SRT4.when you can swap almost anything from car to car then i do not see the point in calling it otherwise.i for one am not ever going to buy a srt4.i love my car too much,and when the time comes for more speed i will simply buy a 2.4 out of a neon srt4 and swap.honda boys and so many others swap all the time.i do not think it is always the wisest idea to buy a srt when you can pay what you have off,buy a new motor and tranny and build exactly what you want,a lil ol' piece o'shit neon that will rape most cars costing twice as much.sounds good to me
