What width??

Post by jetas » Fri Sep 19, 2008 3:16 pm

Alright so this last weekend i picked up some used rims from a friend of mine. The tires are royally fucked and none are the same (tread or brand) Idk the width of the wheel itself but they got 205/40/17 and well they sit like this.
Image

Should i keep the 205? or go wider. I like how the sidewall looks but idk shit about tires. help

looks like that needs a 215. That sidewall looks pretty stretched.

In that picture, the angle you took it at, they do look stretched. If they aren't in person then stay with the 205. Do yo know the width of the wheel (should be on the back of one of the spokes along with the offset).

I'd think a 215 would be better suited for a wheel that wide, however, Crystal would know better than me.

I would say 215 or 225. I have 7.5" wheels with a 225 on them. BFG states you can run their tires that wide on a 7.5" wide wheel. 215 at least IMO. I think a 205 is too narrow.

The +40+42 is the offset :)

:withstupid: Weird that the offset is listed as 40 and 42 though :-k

It shouldn't be. The inner wheel face should be flat for both lug patterns.
