Viper Neon!?

Post by Mopar65 » Sun Sep 21, 2008 10:16 pm

Recently on craigslist there was a 1998 dodge neon viper gts conversion. It was neon turned into a viper that supposidly cost fifty thousand dollars to do. It had the viper interior and body, but the neon drivetrain and such. I feel really dumb asking this because ti sounds like a total joke, but has anyone else ever heard of such a thing? Since then the post has been removed unfortunately.

this is just like people putting SRT body kits on their stock neons. All the show and no go. If it doesn't have the guts of what it looks like, you're just going to look like a fool when your 0-60 is 8.2 instead of 4.2

When I went back the posting was gone, but it looked just like a regular viper.

Over 14,000 dollars for the GTS hood.

And talk about serious stupidity. Put a neon drive train in a Viper? WTF? Dyslexia owns them..... :beatstick: should be viper drivetrain in a neon!!!

i wouldve liked to have seent that, the closest thing to viper parts for a neon that ive seen is the kaminari hood and front fascia, and unless there was major engine work it definately would have suked.

Oh it's possible. Just improbable that someone would go to the time and expense.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Viper body with neon drivetrain...your lacking 6.0 liters, 8 cylinders and now 100% of the rep you did have.

I miss my neon at times. She treated me well and taught me a lot about cars in general. I will always have a special place in my heart for these cars. Heres to the 2gn community.

I don't know... I can see the advantages...

You have the shock value of driving around a viper, but the fuel economy of a neon (or close to it). Very practical.

just make sure to keep the stock muffler on.... everyone will know something's up when they hear the open exhaust of a....... sheep in wolf's clothes?
