might switch out my audio stuff -- any problems with this?
so i might get some new stuff.. maybe.. not yet sure what i'm going to do.. but preemptively ive picked out this stuff ..
i'm fairly certain that there arent any configuration problems with the specs.. but can you pros double check for me..
also any opinions or thoughts about this stuff or changes i should make
first, new head unit
Pioneer DEH-P4000UB
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MZwiLQPRAI ... &s=0&cc=01
not really sure if i like it or not.. i actually want the buttons on the face to get the preset radio stations.. and some reviews said the multi function button/wheel sucks... but the only other units i would consider were some of the kenwood ones, but i didnt like the wireless remote they had... so i guess its this one---
i did like the cheap JVC units with built in HD radio but they all had a few reviews each about problems with the cd player.. and also problems with the HD radio itself.. so i skipped those.. guess if i want HD it will cost me

front door speakers 60W RMS 4 ohm
Infinity Reference 6022i

thought about throwing them on a small amp but i think ill just go with them wired to the head unit

rear deck speakers 110w RMS 4 ohm
Infinity Kappa 692.7i
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MZwiLQPRAI ... &s=0&cc=01
amp for the rear speakers 100 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
Profile AP600
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MZwiLQPRAI ... &s=0&cc=01

and maybe down the line, or maybe not, changing out my sub and amp to these:
Infinity Reference 1050w 10" 4-ohm 250W RMS
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MZwiLQPRAI ... &s=0&cc=01
Profile AP1000M 310 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-MZwiLQPRAI ... &s=0&cc=01

so a couple of the obvious, repetitive questions... since recently there was discussion about overpowering/underpowering subs / speakers .. is the 100w RMS amp a good match for the 110w RMS rear speakers, or should i find something higher and push the speakers at 150w RMS or something like that? would they handle it ok?
and similarly, is the 310w RMS amp ok for the 250w RMS sub? thats 60w over.. too much?
any suggestions on other hardware? i chose these items based on their specs, general overview of the reviews, and price point.. so i'd want to stay in that price range.. also i do like crutchfield... ive bought from them over the years for all my cars so unless there is a compelling reason to buy elsewhere id like to buy from them now also..
not sure if there were any other questions floating around in my mind, im kinda tired right now.

did not have a budget in mind just didnt want to go overboard.. i'm not an audiophile and i dont need competition grade equipment you know.. so some decent stuff for a decent price is what i was after..
all of this stuff is $700 .. that is a bit high i dont really need to spend that much.. so if i could ebay some of the stuff and get it down to $500 or less that would be great.. but i also dont NEED a new sub/amp..

hmm.. sure enough with ebay i can get everything for $540... the only thing there really isnt a better price for on ebay is the 6x9's.. everything else is lower.
and the only free stuff id get with crutchfield is the wiring harness and dash mounting stuff for the cd player.. but ive already got that anyways..
i would just basically lose the option of returning items, and manufacturer warranty..

That was the only thing I was going to suggest. I have used the refferance before and the Kappa is so much better. I wouldn't worry about too much power with that amp. More then likely the amp is way over rated anyway and will probably give you what you want.jT wrote:i think i might change this up
Front: Infinity 62.9i 75w RMS @ 2 ohm
Rear: Infinity 692.7i 110w RMS @ 2 ohm
4 channel amp for front & rear: Profile AP1040 125w RMS x 4 @ 2 ohm
I don't know if that would be too much for the front speakers though? even with the gain turned down...

i think im settled on what i mentioned.. i think it will suit me good.. also it will probably be the 692.9i and not the 7i .. i cant see a difference between the two other than the look of it.. the 9i is just the newer model line i believe.. and since im getting the 9i fronts might as well get the same for the rear
also for the head unit i changed it up to the pioneer premier deh-p500ub.. no major difference between that and the p5000ub its just their "top of the line" product so to speak
in all it will be $409 + installation costs (new amp wiring kit, speaker wire, etc) .. and for now ill use my existing sub + amp and see how it sounds...
ill be back later with questions on how to properly break in speakers .. i think i read it here before maybe i can find something first
