New sound system

Like the title says. Looking to just do speakers and amp. Looking into doing a 4 channel amp with 4 new speakers.

Here are my specs that will determine my set up.

Music: Electronica, Trance,

Max wattage desired: 600

Price range: $400 to $800

Current deck is a Kenwood KDC MP228.

doing just a 4-ch with 4 speakers or adding a sub.

if you listen to alot of techno like i do, getting some good speakers and getting a descent sub and amp will make a huge difference

I would like to save the wieght of the sub a box if I can. Plus I have also had my car broken into twice with both of my previous systems taken. I do have an alarm. Theives don't like to go for my speakers but will take my sub, amp, deck, ect. I had a buddy (god rest your soul Danny) who had an RSX with just a 4 channel amp and four speakers and it was super clean sounding.

damn they took it anyway with the alarm going off that takes some balls or desperation... or both

in this case i would get a descent 4-ch something like 75wx4 RMS @4-ohms and spend the rest on speakers. your basically going to spend more on speakers than on the amp itself to find what your looking for.

theres alot of speakers that are really clear and dont need a gigantic amp to sound good too. normally i would drop a 'Focal' ad here but i dont think it would benefit you because the ones that are in your price range although do bass well, they arent going to give you what i think you are looking for.

however for some reason MB-Quart strongly comes to mind but i have very little experience with this brand and the little i have come in contact with the brand i love them, my only complaint is the HUGE cross-overs.

also if you want i have a set of $360 focal 6x9's on sale here on the site for $180, they were 2 months old when i sold my neon and are back in the original box. the model is 690CVX

If you like trance, i would suggest either getting rockford fosgate speakers or get a set of kenwood speakers or something and go with fosgate tweeters, a 12 in sub might do you good and if you want to prevent it from being stolen have the box custom built to where they could possibly put it in the spare tire hole....i have kenwood rear deck speakers and fosgate tweeters up front and i bump that trance every night
