So I bought my 2002 r/t with a screamin demon already in it.
Last month I noticed that when the engine was hot, and I was going full throttle, that my car seemed to be down on power, and had a slight stutter, or hesistation, basicalluy it didnt seem to rev as quick as it did before.
I changed the plugs and the car was immediately better.
Now another month later its doing it again, does it as soon as the car warms up and gets hot.
I checked the coil, thinking it might be to blame, and the primary coil is JUST too high resistance wise .8 to .9 ohms as opposed to .6 as it calls for.
Could this be the culprit?
The wires test fine for resistance, and they are newer crane wires.
Coil problem...maybe??

Sounds like the coil might be the problem. I've heard mixed reviews about the screamin demon coil pack, as well as the msd coil pack. The stock coil is fine until you get into some serious boost, so I would recommend finding a stock one to replace it.
A neat little trick is to lift the hood and rev the engine in the dark, that way you can see if the coil is grounding outside of the plug wires. You can rev the engine by pulling on the throttle cable, so you don't even need a 2nd person to help.
I guess it could be bad wires as well, but crane are usually good quality so I would look at the coil pack first.

Sounds like the coil. I have had the same exact problem. 1. You gave us symptoms of the powerband and that it was not up to par. 2. You stated that the resistence on the coil was higher than normal meaning that it was on its way out the door. 3. I have seen more MSD and Screamin coil pack fail than stock ones. Period. I would bet it is the coil. Try replacing it like you said. Keep a spare in the trunk just incase. Good luck and hope that solves your problem.
