annoying car chime (engine chime)

You know that stupid chime that makes noise when for example, your CEL lights up, or when you leave the keys in the ignition with the car off, well mine has started to do the following.

Chiming when i take off hard
Chiming when I stop hard
and chiming when i take a corner har

any thoughts?
its really pissing me off

doesn't that happen when your brake fluid isn't topped off? Or was that just the ABS light that would come on...

That could be a tough one, as just about everything sets that thing off. I don't think low washer fluid does on Neons tho. It also depends on which cluster you have. My '01 SE cluster didn't ever chime, don't think it even has one. The R/T cluster chimes if the turn signals are left on, low fuel, etc...If you aren't getting any check engine or anything that illuminates check the bulbs first. If they're good you may have a daunting task before you. Or remove the darn thing, if the bulbs are good you're no worse off than having an SE cluster.

oil pressure... check your oil level. my neon was leaking oil from the cap since the seal was bad and when i would slam on my breaks or take a turn too hard the pressure will go down for some reason.

its your brake fluid

happened with mine a couple times... take off and cornering.. if pads are gettin low, brake fluid might be gettin low.. and it doesnt have to be that low, just a smidge under will cuase it..
