Okay- I just took off the side panels on my car, (yay!) and there's an obvious paint difference on two doors. I knew there would be some. So, I knew I'd need to use some car wax paste, but would it be better to go get it cleaned and waxed at some car wash first? Any tips?
Here are the pics...
I think it's weird how the paint underneath is lighter. strange.

It should fade over time and match the rest. Especially if you're in the Texas sun. How come only your back door is a differnt color? Was the car repainted? In your sig the front piece looks like it's not level on the car like it was repainted and put back on.

yeah that's the weird part. the back door on the driver's side is different- and the front door on the passenger side is different. really weird. so I can just go get it washed and waxed and it'll be fine?

It probably won't be fine. Pick up Turtle Wax - Blue polish and see if that helps blend it in a bit more. The front end of your car was more than likely repainted and the guards put back on. Like someone else said, in your sig your front door one is wavy and not perfectly straight. A surefire sign that someone put it on after painting it again.
Did you carfax your car? Not that its always accurate but still.

yeah I checked it. it drives fine and doesn't seem like it was in a wreck. oh well- I'll try the wax later on.

It could have been keyed or something of the like before you owned it also. Is this the only door affected or is it both rear doors?

I agree with Crystal. I think at the very least the front door was repainted.
