Projector nstalls

Post by AMilbut » Sat Sep 27, 2008 11:27 pm

Anyone have the problem of the projector not sitting in the hole correctly? What I mean to be exact is that it kind of looks like my bumper is sagging so there's about a 1/4 in gap on both sides between where the bottom of the light is and where the bumper starts. I'm sure I can drag the gasket out some more and cover it but that's not exactly proper.

Did you take the factory gaskets off your stock headlights? They are far better than the ones the headlights come with. That might help with some of the gap.

Yea that was the next step. Was just wondering if it was a common problem. All the bolts lined up and everything...I may have a little bumper sag too so...

I have a problem on the passenger side on my car... but the bodyshop gave me an aftermarket bumper which doesn't fit right.

Is it possible your bumper isn't an OEM?

Actually the bumper was replaced, but it was replaced with an OEM one. The lip kit fit right on and the X's lined up and everything, so I'm pretty sure that's not the case. I guess I'll try swapping out the gaskets today.

Thanks racer. I suspected it might go here, but wasn't sure so I just threw it in general.

Raining outside...I swear it's been raining non-stop since I got back from vacation Thursday. Stupid Virginia/D.C. weather!

I'll post up a pic or two of the gap when it stops...might be simple camera phone, but i'll still post some up.

ya more than likely your problem are your gaskets...just take the gaskets off your stock headlights and put em on your projectors...the aftermarket projector gasket are all too small for some reason
