Dome Light on a 2001
Hey everyone...I was wondering if I can get your advice on this.
I wanna make my dome light blue. I havent been able to find a bulb that is actually blue to replace the stock one. Any Ideas on where to get one ?
I also cant find a sleeve that will fit the bulb and I also tryed glass paint and no luck.
Any thoughts on this would be helpful, Thanks

6months no fade.... but then again, dome is rarely on except for opening doors and such.
leds are directional, so it might not put off a good even light.. superbrightleds.com has some 194 bulb multiple led clusters so it covers most of the angles... saw the same ones for the same price in autolumination..
or buy some leds and make your own...

LEDs are directional... unless you know what you are doing and how you want the light to emit.
All LEDs from the dome light only:

I had some blue 921 bulbs and 194 bulbs that just sucked hard. They don't look "blue" and have no "glow" about them. The dome light I built has eight blue LEDs and eight UV LEDs. The UV are mounted for a spotlight effect where as the blue LEDs are all shaved and sanded on the sides for a better glow effect. I wanted the UV LEDs in there so I could read black text on white better in the dark.
I've since added a UV flood in the center console (turns on when you open the arm rest) aimed toward the back seat as well as a green in the base of armrest for an accent color (incredible hulk style: purple and green). I've also added UV cathodes under the dash and back seats. I also replaced my mirror with the upgraded maplight mirror and blue LEDs. I also put in a glovebox light, blue LED. I'm getting ready to add some blue cathodes that come on when the doors open and green cathodes when the trunk is opened or the back seats are folded down. I've got more planned, but it will have to stop there as school starts Monday and my two jobs already take up 70% of my time.
If you want to see some other pictures... pull up this link: http://www.requestfocus.com/gallery/thu ... hp?album=3
If you need some help putting in the LEDs, drop me a note and I'll offer advice where I can.

Yes, the 194 will fit without any hassles.alabama.tuner0315 wrote:Will a 194 bulb from the local parts store be direct replacement?
I replaced the original bulb with a blue 194 and it is still shining brightly.
However, I wanna get nuts so I'm probably gonna get the nitehawk dome light. Those kick some major booty.
