Kenny's Neon 2.0LX to SRT4 Swap Project..... Update 14-04-09

Post by x8rs_safe » Mon Sep 29, 2008 11:52 am

Hi,

I'm Kenny 21years old and i'm from The Netherlands and it's about time to start a project page :)

this is how it all begon.

Image

it's a 2002 Chrysler Neon LX with leather interior and airco, at the moment it had 75.000 on the clock.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

after that the car really needed to be lowered and fitted some new shoes :)

Image

Image

this happened with H&R 35mm lowering springs and with 18x8 Evolution S019 rims.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i didnt like the orange color on my backlights so i sprayed it red ( only i doesnt look that good but im gonna buy new ones soon.

and the Neon was debaged and the Dodge logo was placed on the back.

Image

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Soon after that i had a little bit of damage on my rims and i bought some new ones, this time JZ Hammer Black 18x8

Image

Image

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

after a while i noticed that the quality of the JZ rims was really poor en the lip became with afther washing and the paint was falling of so i got my money back and order new ( yes again :p ) rims this time 18x8 Interaction GP2.

at the same time i got a SRT-wing and a complete lowering kit from Megan racing with adjustable rideheight suspension and camber.

here are the pictures :)

Image

Image

Image

Image
had to turn the car :)

Image

Image

Image\

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

yesterday i started with my trunk because i had a leek ( again ) at my rear lights so i had a swimmingpool in my trunk and a bad smell :sign11:

after i cleaned and dryed my trunk i fixed the leek, threw away my old interior en started from there.

Image

this is how it looked then and at the moment it looks like this

Image

i did cut out some black carpet but its too dark for some good pictures so you have too wait:)

will be updated soon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

yesterday i put on the srt taillights and exhaust ( much to loud so i have to weld a muffler somewhere )

Image

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the srt rearbumper is mounted :)

Image
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My future plans are :

* 2003 projector headlights

* SRT Bodykit ( got the rearbumper )

* Carbon hood

* and lots more.

if anything changes on the car i wil post it with pictures.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hope you like the car.

Greetz Ken...

ohhh man... I think you better put your flame suit on for painting your amber taillight sections red... It seems everyone on here likes those better and are always trying to buy them... I agree with you though, personally I hate amber lights. Also, looks good! I actually liked your first wheels better though. Car looks good though!

Car looks great! I like the last wheels the best out of the three you've had. Nice work so far and the upcoming plans sound great also.

unfortunatly the taillights are the normal orange color again the car went away for APK ( i dont know how to explain it exactly but the car must be in good shape or else its not legal to drive anymore ) and i had to bring the lights in original shape aigain so now they are orange again :(.

theyre not gonna be painted aigain sow in a while when i get my new taillights theyre for sale :)

im looking for a srt front bumper so i can place the dodge logo on the front too, its pretty hard to get an srt bumper here in holland so i have to wait a bit longer.

I think the trunk is pretty nice.. its different yet clean... The only thing i would change is putting the emblem over the key hole.. but that only works if you have a trunk release.. or shave the hole

I wanted to make a keyhole cover like on the old labarrons.. But they only have the star emblem

and since my car is a plymouth and i have dodge srt-d/srt bumpers.. I'm going with just Mopar emblems.. since its all mopar haha.. but thats just mee

i noticed, strange :S

but i put the pictures on using another upload site so they should work now :)

@ Bleurocketsneeks:

thanks but its still not done, little time and allot of work dont mix together very wel hehe.

about the key hole i know it would look much better but i found the button for the trunk release after i placed the logo and its impossible to remove the logo now without damaging the paint so i have to wait untill the day im gonna repaint the car or place a carbon trunk

it should be held on with 3M tape right?... try a blow dryer... that makes it come off with no damage...

haha yeah those releases are hard to find... haha... but i still dont have one...

I mean it looks good at the top too... minus the keyhole

i work in a contruction company ( at a company that build trailers for trucks ) and we have some very superstrong tape that can stand water, i put that on the sides of the logo and in the middle some really strong contruction gleu so believe me when i say i cant get it of without damage :D hehe

I'd keep the wheels you have on there...20's are too damn big. LoL! Trunk looks cool though.

thanks...

at the moment i think that 18" is the best option for me because i dont wanna go wider than 8J and all the rims i like in 19 or 20" are 8,5J

last week i drove the Neon to work while it was snowin, because there was allot of snow on the road i got snow allot of snow in the engine bay and surounding my CAI.

i got water in the intake and my car broke down, so the next step is a new engine. not any engine but an SRT-4 engine :)

it will take a long time but when its finished i will post the result
