There's one of those in Sandusky. Tried to race it, once. The woman probably thought I was some sort of madman.

What rear bumper should an SRT-d have? She is looking at one and I was surprised that it had a regular rear bumper on it no cut outs for the exhaust(R/T muffler).

You should have gave her the :la: but then maybe you would have been the one speeding away!

Edit
It would seem they based the -D on the orginal concept for the -4

Me like the SRT Extreme on that site.

Edit:II
Sales literateture shows SRT Design basically a trim level above SXT, and yes as Dante said (below) it was only offered with dual tips. It's kind of amusing how they use the Magnum engine for the picture.

So just to clarify this is just a regular neon with left over SRT parts right? I mean it doesn't have like SRT suspension or brakes right?

No just an apperance package. Honestly there are no SRT-4 parts on the car the nose and hood are SRT-d specific and the rear is just standard neon no side skirts even.

The R/T should have looked like the SRT Design starting in 2003 instead of the Caravan nose. Dodge sold a whopping 1400 R/T's in 2003...great marketing.

I'm biased though since I have 2 SRT-D's. For someone who asked they use the R/T rear fascia and muffler.

I used to have a 03 R/T and thought it was dumb to have a perf model Neon looked no different than the SE or SXT. I put a SRT front end on my R/T in 2004, funny Chrysler did the same thing for the 2005 model year which the end of production run...really smart.

My point is that they should have offered the R/T with this setup in 2003 then maybe they would have sold more than 1420 of them. It's hard to stay in business selling such low volume of cars.

Oh well it's history now.

Huh? Far as I know, the R/Ts stopped in 2004, even the ones made in Mexico. I have no idea what you're talking about.

It has the SRT wing. :)

I agree. I guess I'm one of the few who like the way the SRT Design looks from the front. IMO they should've changed over to that front end for all the non-SRT Neons at some point, but even putting it on just the R/Ts would've been a great idea.

it didn't have the actual r/t exhaust. it was labeled as "r/t style" exhaust and had a different part number.

 You are correct. I never realized that Chrysler was stupid enough to make a completely different muffler just for that car, but they did! Part #5273673AA fits only 05 SRT-D.

WTF wouldn't they just use the R/T exhaust that they already had?

Ha! SRT-D fails, yet again.

I had an srt-d drive by me awhile back, quiet as hell. Atleast compared to me, I've never heard a stock r/t in person.

Chrysler really wasn't thinking when they came out with it. It doesn't look right.

Yes last year for R/T was 2004 less than 1000 were made from what I understand.

Hey, take it easy on us D owners, I just got my srt-d 2 weeks ago, i wanted black, and I had a choice between an auto sxt and a 5 spd srt-d here in PA. Checked them both out, and the srtd had lower miles and i liked the 5 spd so went with that. I do think the nostrils of the srt look more aggressive then srt-d but i liked the front of the D better then the sxt, personal pref... and i have to say im happy I got the larger 120A alt. tho ok, ill admit a diff exhaust was a dumb move on their part, but other wise im really happy w/ it as my DD.
